I didn't say what you wanted to hear, that's all.

it just was not what you wanted me to say, that's all.

Had we taken over both the House and Senate, I'm sure at some point Mitch would have reminded him that he only had to sign the stuff Republicans (and Putin) put in front of him, not the stuff Democrats did.

All Republicans are like that. Outsourcing basically means they award big fat contracts to their friends who kick back part of the winnings in the form of campaign contributions. The contracts always have an out for poor performance, but the elected officials never use it, because, hey, it's taxpayer money. It's not like it's coming out of their pockets.

So wait, a blue wave during a midterm election would mean that the Democrats would get to pass bills that become law without the Republican president’s signature, thus tripling, quadrupling taxes all by themselves? I guess Trump and his legion of idiots didn’t watch School House Rock.

We once joked, just after the ACA passed, about how, in the future, Trumpians would forget all about their opposition for it and co-opt it as their own idea all along, and say tey were all for it and never held any different views on it.

Well we were only half right. They HAVE co-opted Obamacare, but they are STILL denouncing and repealing it, and blaming the Dems for doing that.

Hell, we just can't predict things properly unless we assume the very worst about them beforehand and then some.

You haven't actually said anything I asked you for clarification way back. You ignored that. We're done here.

I never had any illusion you would hear what I am saying.

Trump underestimates the intelligence of voters. It is actually possible that voters have memories and remember how much Democrats tried to setup a national healthcare system and remember how much Republicans tried to stop it. Trump's claims are contrary to political reality.

Then go vote third party, vote GOP, or stay home. Don't expect any sympathy for pushing that bullshit on election day though. I never claimed to have a "premium" on how things are. But I can use my eyes and experience to see it.

I'll condemn anyone I want too. I have no restrictions on withholding judgment.

You are not changing anything by refusing to participate in one way or another. Since Bill Clinton? If you have made no changes since the early and mid 90s you might want to check what you are doing wrong. That is not my priveledge. That is your blindness. So what change are you tryong to be and how are you going to achieve it? Do what ypu want. Take your informed vote and toss it away. Again, you will get no sympathy later for doing that.

But thank you for confirming that I did not misread your initial comment to me. It was both sides purity bullshit.

You talk as if you have a premium on "how things actually work" and complain about those who "insist on operating in the world as it ought to be". Mahatma Ghandhi said "BE the change that you wish to see in the world". All of the benefits we enjoy as ordinary citizens stem from these individuals who refused to compromise to the point of annihilation. People are being annihilated and their backs are up against the wall in ways you don't seem to understand. There is no "both sides" about it--we are all human beings searching for an answer to our dilemma--how to feed and house ourselves and our families, at the least, and after survival, to fulfill our creativity. Perhaps you are not down at that level of understanding. I am old enough to have seen, and have ancestors who fled annihilation. There is no flip answer, such as "having the nerve to complain about no progress being made". If someone sees clearly that their vote for your candidate will not change their situation, who are we to condemn them? They don't think about your strategy. How many times in the last 40+ years I have voted Dem have I been thrown under the bus? The Dem party changed with Bill Clinton and the DLC. We (some of us) are involved in a battle for our lives because the "things that actually work" are NOT working for us. Yes, I have a nerve coming on this site as it is today and complaining about this--I am not a "good soldier" for the Dem Party. I am an informed voter--something just as much an anathema to Dems as to Repubs these days. Check your privilege.

You replied to me on a comment I made where I asked if someone who threw their vote away on a third candidate who was not even running learned anything. If they did learn that not only did they not get a voice or a seat at the table, but also helped to insure that their nominal allies also did not get a voice or a seat at the table. Because people make mistakes. As i pointed out. They either learn from them or not. As i also pointed out.

Your reply read like "vote your conscious even if you denies you and your allies any say in anything after you throw your vote away". It read like purity nonsense in context.

I did ask if i misread you. You said yes, but did not point out where. I was not ragging on people who think their vote has value. I was calling out people who repeatedly throw away their vote and then have the nerve to complain about no progress being made. I was calling out the purity brigade who time and again refuse to understand how things actually work and insist on operating in the world as it ought to be instead of how it is while dping nothing to make it as it ought to be.
