As... interesting a development as that would be, I don't think it'll turn out that way. I believe their interests just happened to align this particular time, and they had a candidate that was opportunistic and greedy enough to latch onto the Russians and use them/be used by them for all it was worth.
Of course, now that they're in bed with them over 2016, they find themselves doing more and more favors for Putin -- a development which surprises no one.
Should this whole thing go South and Lindsay actually has to suffer some sort of penalty, how many airports would he have to run through in order to atone?
I still gloomily opine that he'll never serve a day in prison. I think it's likely he will spend the rest of his rotten life hounded by civil and criminal charges, though, and having his flabby ass sued off, and one hopes, never know a peaceful moment again.
Yes, I won't argue with you about him slithering away from many accusations. Trump's legal exposure is greatest at the state level in GA and with the NY AG. But there is a (little reported) Federal Grand Jury hearing evidence on him in NY. Garland is cautious. Trump is a micro-manager with his WH staff. But (allegedly) any crimes created by his businesses were the fault of his CEO and COO and he claims he had "no idea what they were doing", though his name is on every document.
I can't believe he hasn't been outed (he SHOULD be), and I really can't believe one of his Republican opponents in 2016 didn't do it. Isn't that what GOP dirty money is for?
Again, if you're a rich white guy it doesn't matter. Everyone in South Carolina (except maybe a few naive old church ladies) knows that he's ghey. But he isn't flying a rainbow flag in front of his house or appearing in public with a leather daddy boyfriend, and so as long as he supports white supremacy, they're cool with him.
On another planet in a parallel history, imagine that there were real violations of Federal election law and someone from the Judiciary Committee investigated.
I understand that but if it was reversed - if a Democrat was gay but wouldn't admit it - you KNOW that GOP dark money would be sending out mailings and making robocalls saying something like, "Are you comfortable with a homosexual in this office? Me neither, which is why I won't vote for ______."
I guess Graham has too much blackmail material on his fellow GQPs.
As they said a while back, the witch hunt has sure found a lot of witches.

Occam's Razor.
I want to know if the Senate was actually in session when he made that call.
In TrumpWorld, the buses ride you!
This particular one just happens to be fishing for remoras.
First the Dems make it so a Republican can't even lie to the FBI (Louie Gohmert) now they make them honor subpoenas. When will the torture stop?
