"After life, after shave." -- Sir Henry Rawlinson

Didn't Dick Durbin ESPECIALLY humiliate himself in a fawning eulogy

"Graham when the senator’s ticker went BRRRR SCREEEE."

I think it went:

"Hold my mint julip!"

The horrible little twerp is dead. Next?!

In normal times I would have celebrated his...um...'passing' with great aplomb (like I did when Scalia croaked...(nearly alcohol poisoned myself on bloody marys that Saturday morning!)...But these days my reaction is "Is that ALL you got?"

A definitive twofer with him and McConnell would have helped

Its just that there is SO MUCH fucking right wing filth that needs to die, that when one of them DOES, I'm merely reminded of HOW MANY FUCKINIG MORE there are to go...

Sigh

Holder quotes Trump as saying, "best thing I have ever done", and goes on to remark, "He loves blowing stuff up.”

So do all young boys, Alex. I loved blowing things up when I was a pre-teen. But I made sure there were no living things in or near the target.

Not even your sister’s Barbie?

And this is somehow WITHOUT ever mentioning his sexuality, apparently?

Let’s get this straight: I have ALWAYS assumed what kept Lindsey in the closet wasn’t fear of homophobia in this day and age; it had to be something MUCH darker.

Saviour of Bread's avatar

We don’t know his sexuality.

When a public official and/

or celebrity’s private life is COMPLETELY buried, there’s a reason. To turn a phrase on its head, “ Where there’s no smoke and you know there SHOULD be at least a little smoke, there’s fire.”

Maybe if we gave nukes to all the Middle Eastern countries there would finally be peace.

Maybe for thousands of years!

Not Paranoid, Quadranoid's avatar

Is “Lindsey’s Game” anything like “Gerald’s Game?”

Tecolote's avatar

Lindsey poured gasoline all over the Middle East, tossed a match, turned his back on it and strode into the afterlife.

Lieberman died? I hadn't known that. Was he another one of NuttyYahoo's buddies?

PeteWa's avatar

From the 1980s through his death.

Kirsty Gnome #squattor's avatar

He was deeply troubled even before Susan Collins was.

Sherry's avatar

Well he's dead and that's the good part.

O/T...Carly Simon is 83, she's announced that she's been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

The same statement also mentioned that she underwent surgery for skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma, along side her Parkinson’s diagnosis and treatment...

Can we start at the '79 Revolution, or do gotta go back to Darius and his elephants?

Somehow I doubt these coneheads know the difference between a Persian and an Arabian.

Iran is not Arabian. At all.

goCatgo's avatar

Hey, they're not stupid. They saw Aladdin.

Nemo's avatar

And calling someone an Arap can get you into trouble in Turkey.

I Stedman's avatar

Calling someone a "MAGAot" can get you into trouble in certain rural towns in the USA. It's not like Turkey is special in having fantastically stupid people around.

> So the documentary will be titled Lindsey’s Game.

"Ender's Game" LIBELZ!!! (Yes, Orson Scott Card is a homophobic asshole. I didn't know that when I read the book. I find it deeply ironic, since Ender's success is a direct result of his radical empathy -- allowing him to see things from his enemy's point of view, understand their motivation, and predict their behavior -- while Card's homophobia shows an utter lack of empathy.)

Carstonio's avatar

Does the book also promote Latter-Day Saints mythology, something like the original 1978 Battlestar Galactica?

SterWonk's avatar

Not that I could tell.

I Stedman's avatar

Oh, and everyone Ender fights winds up dead, but it's okay 'cause he didn't mean to kill them, right?

SterWonk's avatar

The two humans he killed, he didn't mean to kill. At least one, he didn't know he had killed until years later. But they both weighed on him, and he absolutely did not think it was okay.

I Stedman's avatar

That would be two counts of manslaughter, and 20 years to life for both of them, but it's okay 'cause he's the 'chosen one'. Yeah, no.

I Stedman's avatar

Weighed upon him my ass. Howzabout prison weighing upon him?
