Southern gentleman Lindsey Graham would like all y'all to kindly leave his state of South Carolina and its proud heritage alone. Sure, some people think it's despicable that the Confederate freak flag still flies over the state capitol -- because the South shall rise again, or at least spend more than a century being real damn bitter about that time it got its
FUN FACT! Most of my fellow Southerners gave all of two f#cks for the Stars and Bars until it was trotted out again during the 1950s and 60s to celebrate the 'Segregation Now! Segregation Forever!" fancies by the likes of George Wallace and Arvin Hodgepile. So 'Historically Beloved'? Not so much!
Sort of like 'Under God' was only added to the Pledge of Allegiance to combat McCarthy's 1950s Commie Invasion.
Well, Germany goes too far, to the point where actors in historical movies have to have their swastika armbands pixelated, and Mein Kampf is banned. Everyone should at least flick through Mein Kampf, to realise that if Hitler had lived 80 years later, it would have just been a badly formatted WordPress blog which no-one read.
Such "leadership". The President they loathe comes out and says what happened and what should be done, (too timidly IMO), and Republicans squirm and point at anything but themselves. And the Sunday shews will tell America that the President politicized a tragedy.
Is it just me or do these excuses sound especially hollow THIS TIME? Are we finally getting tired of the BS? This is like an abuser using any excuse to justify their behavior and promising it will never happen again, or just outright lying that it's not their fault and it never happened that way. I sense a growing rage this time. I think we need to feel it and call politicians and the NRA on their shyt.

So quoting Uncle Kurt again:
Dear Senator Graham,
Why don't you take a flying fuck at a rolling doughnut? Why don't you take a flying fuck at the moooon?
XOXOXO!MMYY

It should be a crime punishable by a compulsory semester of Remedial American History to fly the USA and Traitor Slavery flags together.

He did politicize a tragedy. He had to. Because it is the role of government and politicians to try to stop shit like this. It's his fucking job.
Just seeing Dean makes me feel better. Just like kittehs!
As a teacher of history, I appreciate the "industrially produced" touch.
You know, I really like the feeling behind Lincoln's approach to the end of the Civil War. Charity towards all, etc.
The problem is these assholes are assholes and view charity as weakness.
Poor Abe. He did have a vision. It really is too bad some contemporary Lindsey Graham killed him at Ford's theater.
It was deliberately and with malice aforethought made the symbol of segregation.
The Confederate battle flag has EVERYTHING to do with white supremacy. EVERYTHING.
Heritage, my ass. It's about hate.
Alas, a great deal of assumptions.
Yeah, that 2nd Inaugural Address never gained much traction south of the line. We need a 2nd Reconstruction.
For the same reason that Rhodesian and apartheid-era RSA flags are now tres chic with the AB crowd.
This time, Bill, take the gloves off.
