"...make-believe stuff that makes white supremacist Christian conservative clown pigs shit their beds at night."

It's depressing to me that these people are taken seriously, and given any room whatsoever in our public discourse. They are extremist nutjobs, who would otherwise be wearing white robes, but that would be just too obvious.

And the Republicans' cynical technique of dumbing down in order to manipulate a significant portion of the population makes me both stabby and nauseous at the same time. We have them to blame for the rise of idiocy in this country.

I really want to vomit.

"Darline"? "Lindsey"? Well weren't they a 'fancy' family . . . No "Dicks" or "Janes" there.

OG Cookie Lady- less stabby's avatar

Look. Lindsey wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. But his sister? You couldn’t use her to dig a hole in potting soil.

Darline, Darline, Darline, Darline

I'm begging of you please speak for Taiwan

I trust her more than career Republicans, just saying...

Pretty low bar, there.

I'm not sure, but I think I'd still rather have a regular uninformed dumbfuck than a fully trained professional politician as a Republican Senator.

On the theory that the professional has been very thoroughly vetted and understands the game, we already know what his answers will be. With the dumbfuck, there is still the outside possibility that Liz Warren could button hole her in the Senate ladies room and explain to her exactly what she is actually voting for and what the real consequences would be.

In theory.

On the other hand, I'd rather have a Demmy-crat, even if it's one of of the incredibly infuriating milquetoast ones.

I think in her case she truly does not give a shit about all of it too.

Which I still think is less dangerous than anyone on the right side who “believes”

The Republicans are all nothing but placeholders. Some of them are just louder than others.

PrimerGray's avatar

She's an automatic "yea" on whatever Assface wants.

Martini Glambassador's avatar

You'd expect *at minimum* she'd be versed on the number of people she was supposed to be representing. Sheesh.

Trespassers Will's avatar

If we wanted to be charitable we could say she misspoke, 50M instead of 5M, but why would we do that?

Martini Glambassador's avatar

I mean, I'd typically give somebody the benefit of the doubt if they deserved such, but clearly she has a very smooth brain.

She may be dumb as shit but she sure is folksy. Probably wins in SC, bless their hearts.

Megan Macomber's avatar

And Darline Not-Graham's a shoo-in, because South Carolina. Too bad Marsha Blackburn is leaving the august body. Darline could have displaced her for stupidest Southern belle.

Bless her rotten little heart.

PrimerGray's avatar

Them belles is cracked.

"So of course, Dumbfuck Darline is making 'men in women’s sports' a centerpiece of her campaign to replace her dead brother in the Senate."

The irony of her brother frequently being mistaken for a belligerent old lady escapes her.

tehbaddr's avatar

Does double take on pic, "did I squick her some time back in the early aughts?"

/hears accent

Oh, no way!

MRK's avatar

What do you think squick means? Because I've only ever encountered it in a context where it means something like 'make someone feel gross or disgusted.'

This is your base model unreconstructed party candidate/legislator now. Sadopopulism now, sadopopulism forever. So always have to heap the scorn on trans women, because that's the bigotry the intellectually and emotionally bankrupt hatriots that would vote for her want.

Rosy red ASS's avatar

Does anyone know if the person she is running against in the primary is any smarter?

MRK's avatar

Unlikely. Probably better prepared, though.

Rosy red ASS's avatar

Yeah, I figured that was the case.

My Erdos Number Is Five's avatar

That was my first thought when I saw him standing there.

Some of y'all are giving her a lot of credit. I mean, do we even know if she knows where Taiwan is? Or that she's even heard of it?

Lance Thrustwell's avatar

She likes to go to the club and Taiwan on.

Anarchy Pony's avatar

Most republicans are just dumb tools. She's a prime example.

belfryo's avatar

"It was awkward when she said there were “50 million people” in South Carolina, for one thing."

You know I hate to quibble Evan. But even I think it was fair for her to round up from "49 million" which IS the population of SC and everybody knows it

Mr blob's avatar

I mean everybody knows the population of Charleston, the currently second most populated city on earth is 42 million, ahead of Jakarta Indonesia
