No shame on the officers. I’ve had to get kitchen keys and make sack lunches for rapists late from court

You can’t starve them no matter what they’re charged/convicted of. It’s not your job to punish them

DunnoThe hardest person to wrestle into cuffs (sometimes it takes 2 pair, you never say that on the fake cop shows), can be an overweight middle-age housewife. It's like fighting a cross between Grendel and an octopus. The Spock Vulcan Pinch ain't a real thing. There has to be some tools available to subdue resisting/fighting back suspects, but their use has to be tightly regulated by the PD Brass. Also, cops need to understand the difference between resisting and fighting back and use force accordingly:

Resisting arrest: Cop: "Put your hands behind your back, you're under arrest" Suspect: "No" keeps hand in front, but no offensive movesReasonable Force: control holds, pain compliance

Fighting Back:Cop: "Put your hands behind your back, you're under arrest"Suspect takes a punch at officerReasonable Force: baton, pepper Spray, Taser.

Bad guy connects, knocks cop to ground, on top, punching, gauging eyes, etc. Reasonable force: Deadly or other force as cop's life is in danger

It ain't WWF out there, folks

Observe, but don't interfere or be blatant about it. Responding officers may come up behind and ambush you. Put your back to a wall and pretend to be texting while your phone records, Don't make eye contact with cops or suspects.

It was introduced with good intentions, then became a "go to" weapon in a conflict. Still better than being beaten or shot, though.

That's so, but there used to be another kind of policeman-- non-authoritarian policemen. There probably still are, they just aren't getting into the news. And those people were great. Of course I'm white but I met with kindness from policemen and I know they used their judgement all the time.

Just look at his history. He was a mean boy. Getting treats for his younger cousin, for example. That kind of thing has to stop.

I had a gig transcribing minutes for a city council committee in a KC suburb about a decade back, when these first came on the scene. The local police chief assured the suits that tasers would be used only in extreme circumstances.

Watch a rerun of "Cops" any day of the week and you'll see cops routinely tasering suspects who are already down on the ground and cuffed. And, of course, yelling "STOP RESISTING! STOP RESISTING!" while they're doing it.
