And those numbers are only speculative, since religious nonprofits aren't required to file balance sheets, or Form990s, that all other nonprofits are required to file with the IRS and make public. Churches are basically able to operate the same way PACs do, as long as they don't print partisan political things on their letterhead or post partisan signs, and even if they do, it's only the overworked IRS who can enforce the law.
