Why don't they just tell this asshole: I AM ASKING THE QUESTIONS HERE! You shut your drooling fucking mouth and answer them!

EyeQueue's avatar

JUST ANSWER THE FUCKING QUESTION!

Hegseth: "Imagine what the world would like if Iran had a nuclear weapon".

Me: Imagine if bananas were blue.

Just WTF with made up suppositions.

We're dealing wtih the world right now where both the U.S. and Israel have them and the U.S. is the only nation historically who has USED them

Psst, Pete - your white nationalist violent streak is showing, and it's not 'cos your tattoos are on display

I imagine that Israel would probably behave better.

Menotsure's avatar

Hegseth has bragged this morning that enrollment in the armed services is booming.

What he doesn't say is that this has historically been true when civilian job opportunities are scarce.

Uncle Betamax's avatar

I'd love to see the actual numbers. I'll be prepared to bet Commander Drinkaware has suppressed them though.

superdave's avatar

Yup, the job market is shite.

Ah Stefanik, good time to turn off the TV and head out the door. Later y'all.

Pete just told a dem congressman he was a disgrace for calling this operation a "quagmire" and that it disrespected the troops. Then he went into the "hatred for President Trump" stuff. Tiresome.

Tom65's avatar

That seems to be the standard response from Trump Inc.

Uncle Betamax's avatar

They have a template.

Uncle Betamax's avatar

Scripted bullshit.

Cheers Y'all's avatar

Oh, so it's going well then...snort.

Oy!'s avatar

Apparently "quagmire" is a trigger word for Petey Kegseth . . . what a pathetic man.

Cheers Y'all's avatar

I haven't been able to tune in until just now and I have to leave in 10 minutes....

How's it going?

I'll catch up later this afternoon, but curious as to how it is going.

cmd Human Scum's avatar

Dems have actual real questions, which Petey refuses to answer. R's are their usual asshole selves.

Pete is a 6 foot tall man with "Little Man Syndrome". I wonder, what is he compensating for? My guess is either his lack of intelligence and talent or his small penis.

Why not both?

The Pentagon comptroller, Jay Hurst, said the Iran war had so far cost $25 billion, mostly because of the tens of thousands of bombs and missiles used. This is the first time the Defense Department has publicly provided a cost estimate for the war so far.

It's low. How come he wasn't asked to choose how the defense increases should be financed. Does he prefer incurring massive debt, or does he prefer a complete tax system revision that would result in increases in taxes for the rich?

Rooster Cogburn's avatar

Well, just cut the capital gains taxes to make up for it. Because we don't care about gas, food, or housing price increases:https://finance.yahoo.com/economy/policy/articles/republicans-eye-capital-gains-tax-090000270.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall

The disproportionate benefit for the wealthy would hand Democrats another attack line heading into a midterms where the party has already painted Republicans’ recent sweeping budget law as a give-away to the rich.

“That’s Democrats’ attack whatever we do,” Cruz said. “That’s what they’ll say regardless of the facts, so let’s actually do what’s good for the economy.”

Nobody ever asks why Iran should never have a nuclear weapon. I am against nuclear proliferation, but given that Israel has a reasonably large stockpile of nuclear weapons, Iran might see that having even a few nuclear bombs might be a deterrent against the Israeli or US governments using these weapons against them. Should they unilaterally use such a weapon the response by the Israeli and/or US governments would literally do what Trump raged about when he promised to end their civilization. Finally any use of a nuclear weapon against Israel would inevitably kill millions of Palestinian Arabs and quite likely destroy or irradiate Jerusalem, home of the oldest mosque in Islam, the place from which Muhammed was lifted to heaven to see Allah's face, and the third most holy place in the eyes of devout Muslims. The previous agreement allayed many of those issues with IAEA inspections, which by all accounts showed that Iran was living up to the deal.

This is madness.

Is anyone asking Hicseth about the food situation in the Navy?

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2026/04/29/fresh-food-iran-war-us-navy-ships/89660748007/

"In the weeks since USA TODAY's report, more family members and friends of sailors and Marines on the two ships have reached out to express concerns about the food their loved ones are eating.

"The mother of a sailor on the USS Abraham Lincoln said she was worried that her son had lost 20 pounds since his deployment began months ago. She said he'd eaten a dry meat square atop a small scoop of rice for one recent meal and an off-color burger patty with a side of liquid nacho cheese for another. A man said he'd sent protein powder to a close friend on the USS Tripoli after she said she was too weak to work out.

The Navy is about a week away from salt pork and weevil infested hardtack.

Aquaman, Real Estate Investor.'s avatar

When did a modern navy suffer a mutiny?

I want to say 1982, Falklands, when at least one British ship had a mutiny because the sailors hadn't been paid for the entire deployment. (The pay was eventually paid out, the Government was just being dicks and holding into it).

But I'd have to go check if that's even right.

My doctor asked me if I've had any feelings of anxiety or depression lately. I asked her if she had access to any news or the internet, or if she was just braindead.

EyeQueue's avatar

I said basically the same thing on my last visit (b/c they give that questionnaire at every visit). I'm like, "If you're a reasonable person paying attention to what is happening I would suggest you can't help but be anxious and depressed right now. It's reality based."

weejee's avatar

The VA just sent an email that asked a few questions about if I ever considering suicide. More than a few vets have some PTSD issues.

RRJKR's avatar

I never consider suicide, but don't dare tell them how I really feel, for fear they'd want to lock my ass up!

EyeQueue's avatar

See? That's not OK. Youre therapist should be there to help you and not just throw you into a cell. :(

I felt comfortable enough with my therapist when I was at my worst like 2 years ago about exactly how I felt. I was having both suicidal ideation and violent ideation potentially toward MAGA that at the time I was much more likely to act on.

Every session my therapist would ask me if I was thinking about suicide or violent actions and then she would ask me if I had any plans.

She made it clear to me that as long as it was just ideation, she wouldn't escalate. When I had a plan then it would be me presenting a danger to myself and others and she would call authorities.

I got better. Now I feel like what is happening now has eroded a lot of the hard work I did in the IOP, especially when it comes to regulating anger.

I'm having a really really fucking hard time with it.

RRJKR's avatar

I have zero plans to escalate my fantasies into reality. The best therapy for me is doing whatever I can to stop this madness. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I take every opportunity to bring Trump supporters back to the real world. The diehard MAGAhats are impossible, hopelessly lost. However, the fence sitters are reachable. To my credit, I can say I have converted several Reach out to them before the midterms It's imperative for the Ds to gain control of both Houses. It will take some work, but is well within the realm of possibility. We all need to get busy starting some "Good Trouble"

EyeQueue's avatar

Oh, 100%. I'm glad they are reaching out and tryign to do something about it.
