OT but now that we have reached peak eclipse in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, I can attest to a disappointing experience...didn't dim at all really, just got a little 'less bright'...bummer...(80% BTW)
I sent flyers to all the evangelicals around here, offering fifty cents on the dollar for their assets, since they're all gonna' be playing harps with jeebus once the rapture occurs this afternoon.
No takers. I don't think their faith was strong enough.
Wispy clouds and 93% coverage here. For 20-odd minutes, the landscape seemed to be lit from the sides, not from above, and the light went from yellow highlights to blue. Birds and bugs nonplussed.
Alex Jones will spend the next week trying to find out what the Deep State did to steal more of our freedom while we were preoccupied looking up at the Sun.
Just passed peak here in D.C. Got about 90% coverage five minutes ago. The light is still quite strange—muted, not blue but grey, almost matte. The sun looked like a perfect crescent moon.
Ta, Evan.
Oh, Liz Dye totally knocks one clear to Venezuela: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_ZBrAwDp44
I watched that yesterday (Monday) and thoroughly enjoyed it.

That's because the rapture is just a rhetorical device to help justify them oppressing and ostracizing people!

I got me some clip-on eclipse filters :)
Got a pretty good look from here in the Boston area! Little over 90%. But a little fuzzy without my regular glasses. Very cool!
Well, that was all sciencey and shit. Damn cool.
My friend in Bumblefuck, Arkansas: "Totality was pretty fucking cool."
Also: "The locals are already convinced that Trump made the sun disappear"
"And then he made it come back!"

Well, no fuckin' shit.
It's getting really dark here in Albany NY.

YAY SCIENCE!
85% down here in Fredericksburg. It was kind of an orange-ish cast, like Fall, but the sun was high.
Crescent was along maybe 1/3 of the diameter. Shadows got funky.
In Dallas, there were patchy clouds as the eclipse began but clear blue sky at the time of totality.
10/10
Would stare at the Sun again.
Has Marge been raptured yet? Anyone check? Return to sender sticker attached?
Am fully jealous of you totality peeps (just a little darker)
Like twilight here - just enough to confuse the birds.
