andrewjweinstein on Threads: "Donald Trump’s obvious inability to maintain a regular campaign schedule should be a much bigger story."

Which: totally. He either pants-shittingly terrified or clearly impaired/failing/not well or both. Goddamn, this is fun.

But also: I am so fucking sick of how many things you could fill in this MadLib with: "Donald Trump’s [....... ] should be a much bigger story." Do better, MSM.

Pardon any misspellings or grammatical errors, I'm drunk af right now. BUT...on our way home from the pub tonight, our Uber driver (sounded Eastern European) noticed my American accent and asked what I thought of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. I nearly cried, describing how much I love both of them. I said I'm from Minnesota (like Walz) and he said he'd been to Minnesota last year to visit his brother, who now lives there, and loved it. He said he's soooo happy about the Democrat ticket for this election, he loves Kamala and he's watched Tim Walz and thinks their election to the White House would be the greatest thing to happen to the world since Obama, and that having trump back in office would be "the end of the world."

He got a £3 tip.

Vance: These kids' parents died of fentanyl overdoses 5 years ago... Um, who was president 5 years ago?

Crystalclear12's avatar

Gotta wonder what Vance was thinking because weird standing next to normal multiples the weird.

Sorry. The risk of accidentally seeing and hearing Vance is too damned high. I'll wait for the comments and summations of the Harris/Walz rally.

Let's put that stollen valor crap to bed, shall we...this is what Vance did in the Marines:

"He joined the Marines in 2003 and served as a combat correspondent – or military journalist – until 2007, according to military news site Task & Purpose."

In other words, he was a journalist...I haven't found anything about actually being shot at though...wanna retract that comment about "stolen valor" JD, hmmm....????

Oh my god... the part where Walz stops for several minutes to care for someone who needed help for heat exhaustion... I'm crying right now at this wonderful man's kindness and caring.

yikes. Lightning just struck here that was so powerful I heard a little *click!* come through the wire on my headphones.

Also, thank fuck it's finally raining. One more heat wave coming up next week, and then I think we're done for the summer. Then I can finally start planning some section-hikes again.

Who was it here who was talking about me coming to the US to do some thru-hikes? On my bucket list are several I still want to do here in Europe:

Tour du Mont Blanc. A loop hike around a beautiful massif on the French/Swiss/Italian border. One of the most popular of the mid-length hikes.

The GR20, across the island of Corsica. Supposedly one of the most difficult thru-hikes in Europe.

However, I don't think anybody really thinks about the E-Trails, some of which are massive and (afaik) have never been done in their entirety. Including:

E1: The best known, and one of the most challenging. From Nordkap at Norway's northernmost point down across the Alps, down Italy, and into Sicily. 6kkm

E3: From Santiago de Compostela in Spain, across the Pyrenees, across the trans-European mountain ranges into Romania and Bulgaria, eventually down into Greece. 8kkm.

Right now I'm working on the E10, which runs from the German island of Rügen southward around Berlin, into Czechia across Prague, thence across Austria and into the Italian Alps, where it terminates on joining the E5 at Bolsano.

So much hiking to do, and my life is short and money is lacking :(

Joonyer and the other weirdo flying monkeys are spreading the lies about Walz's military service. Someone posted this meme with the facts, which they'll dismiss like the assholes they are.

Hmm. Makes me curious about JD Vance's military record, which I wouldn't have thought to question, until they start to smear Walz...

Let me sum up's avatar

Vance spent his military career w one eye open so he wouldn't get fragged.

Let's just compare the military service of Uday and Qusay next to what Walz has done.

And no, Scientologists, don't even think about it.

I've thought this for a while - the Mormons are just too inherently (and oddly) kind to ride or die for the orange crush.
