Denying the gaslighting is a relief.

This is good. I'm glad they're investigating, and I'm glad that there are genuine patriots out there.

I also don't give a damn about how the right wing feels about anything the Dems do. It's about time that the left stands up to these bullies.

Which members of Congress gave tours in the days leading up to the insurrection?Who was in the tour group?Who among those breached the Capitol that day?

It will be interesting to see how right-wing media spin the actions of the traitorous, craven fucks they helped turn loose on 6 January...

One thing I am thankful for is not hearing Gym Jordan’s screech and seeing his underbitten rictus smile.

I'll second that. Someone needs to (metaphorically, of course) stomp on that little cockroach.

Republicans: will insist it’s only incitement if the actual words “now I, Donald j Trump, want you, every person here at this rally, to proceed down this road to the capitol, illegally overtake the capitol, stop the certification through any means necessary, thereby staging a coup, and installing me as dictator for life. Now go. On the order of me, Donald trump.” But we all know had he said exactly that, it would’ve been “a joke”

I’m sure there’s some Black woman somewhere, or some Mexican immigrant doing something they don’t approve of, and they’ll just focus heavily on that for the next couple weeks. Also probably LGBTQ people existing, and that won’t do.

Why do people wonder about that? Why do people care?

They’re anti-democratic, and they don't mean the democracy any good at all. We already know what their aims are, and if we've been paying attention and are willing to face the truth we also know what their tactics are.

To that end, I remain consistently fascinated that so many people seem do much more interested in watching that collective Nazi trainwreck than they do in making sure as many people can vote as possible AND that the "we can overturn the results of an election anytime we want" provisions in those state-level GOP voter suppression laws are stamped out so those people can't stay permanently in power (to do nothing) ... which is in fact what they want.

I already wrote this out upthread - and more than once - and yesterday too - but I can't tell you how much I wish people who claim to care about democracy would direct their focus *away from* these Nazis.

It's not as if there isn't anything else to do

This is the point where Gym Jordan would have been making armpit fart noises or something to disrupt the testimony.
