This one answer is the whole kit and caboodle, complete explanation. It could have saved hours of complete irrelevance. Colorado rules state that she cannot simultaneously hold a senate seat in one district and run for a senate seat in another district. She would have to resign her current seat, and risk the very real (99% certain) possibility of losing in the special election. She's in checkmate and I am here for it.
