I'm reminded of that Tom Cotton-crafted letter to Iran during Obama referencing Kerry's nuclear deal with them, stating that Obama won't be the president forever and the deal is moot and blah blah blah.... I thought then, and I still think of that as not only an unauthorized end-run around the President's foreign policy goals, but this is blatently negotiating with a hostile power without administration approval. Maybe not treason, but up there as far as activity that could be detrimental to the efforts to build harmony with bad actors. And again: zero consequences.
