I am telling you!! This shit is about to get messy af!!! Curious to know if Dick “Satan” Cheney still has friends in the CIA (or KGB) and how soon it's gonna be until we see all that delicious komoromat on all the Republicans who supported Trump- and of course on Trump, too. Trump went gunning for Liz. Sure hope Ivanka has no skeletons in her closet...

I love the parts in bold. But why do these people always have stories about people they met in other countries who suffered but never seem to have met a Black American?

I don't have to like Liz Cheney, but I applaud her stance on this particular issue. Sadly, it seems she is the lone voice of reason.

Not allowed by the GQP 'powers that be.'

Well good for Liz Cheney for speaking up against her vile colleagues, but she somehow managed - in her defense of democracy - not to mention the threat of fascism once.

The day the GOP died? Personally, I say it was when Bush v Gore was handed down. THhs is just the burial, but sure, put it on the tombstone if you want.

Being number three in the minority is a meaningless position, and Liz knows it. She's setting herself up for a Presidential run in 2024 or 2028, when she knows that Former Guy will be in prison, on his way to prison, in a nursing home, or dead. A lot can happen in three years. She also knows that there aren't enough of his hardcore cultists to win an election, and she will be able to repackage herself as one of the few Republicans willing to tell the truth.

I think that too many folks are seeing this unfolding as some kind of Greek tragedy, but in reality it is farce. Liz and her fellow "conservative Republicans" think that their party would be just fine if the orange shit gibbon went away. They fail to see that the rot goes all the way to the core. It is the inevitable consequence of their party turning away from democracy--that is, from policies that broadly benefit the majority of the nation's citizens rather than a few wealthy oligarchs. That is why they have had to embrace ever nuttier wingnuts--beginning with Nixon's Southern strategy of co-opting Southern bigots, then embracing fundagelicals and gun nuts and finally, utterly batshit Q-Morons.That is why they have found themselves repeatedly on the wrong side of the law--from Nixon's Plumbers to the Reagan/Bush shadow government of Iran/Contra to Bush II's big lie to sell the Iraq war to Trump's Goons on the national mall and the insurrection of Jan. 6.That is why they have continually driven the country's economy into the ditch--Bush I's S&L scandal, Shrub's Housing crisis and Darth Cheeto's Corona crash.A party cannot succeed in a democracy if it doesn't adopt policies that benefit the overwhelming majority of citizens. A party that tries will be driven ever further out into La-La Land and will collapse into an authoritarian kleptocracy. And here we are.
