Until the day he died, whenever we visited them, he would bolt from the car straight to that corner of their deck hoping to see another cat fight.
We had a cat and a yellow lab. So one day we got a food bowl that had a paw-operated lid, and taught kitteh how to use it. The lab was at a loss, never figured it out.

I survived measles, with no lifelong effects. But, was extremely ill, including being delirious with fever, and had to stay in dimly lit rooms. Also, for the next 5 years, if there was a germ in the air, I got it, because the measles virus screws up your immune system. It was not Brady Bunch, and when that stupid segment was on, it was a yell at the teevee moment, because I may have only been 4, but I remember it very well - every pain, ache, itch. I don't remember the delirium, but a memory of the monsters I saw during it, remained with me for years. I'm older than dirt now, and still remember what I called them.
Kennedy enjoyed having the blood of Samoans on his hands, and it left him thirsty for more. The pro disease contingent is thrilled over him and his gang of quacks and frauds. I'm quite sure both Russia and China are thinking - hey! We can just let them kill themselves with VPDs, and won't have to expend any energy at all.

The Snow Prince has come for me!" and mom was sure I was a goner. I wasn't, but just barely. The out of control fever was Reye's syndrome, from all the baby aspirin I was fed.
And this is what Kennedy and the rest of the pro-disease crowd wants to bring back and those that follow them, preferring their Grand Idea about Evil Vaccines, to the health and lives of their fellow human beings - including their children. You should hear some of them talk about how babies choking with pertussis isn't that serious, and one person told me that "nobody had shingles before the chicken pox vaccine was invented," and refused to believe my explanation of why we call herpes zoster, "shingles."

I don't make fun of Leavitt's clothing. I didn't realize that was a thing. I don't believe, other than nothing the cross around her neck, I've ever really noticed what she was wearing. I was too busy concentrating on the stream of rancid ordure, flowing from her lips.

I will comment that she seems to dress a bit older than her age - I was surprised to learn that she was only 27/28. It must be her personal preference to dress that way, because she also looked much, much older in her wedding gown, which resembled the gown my mom wore for her 2nd wedding when she was in her 50s.
Not saying it's a bad or a good thing to dress older, it's just a thing I noticed about her 🤷🏻♀️
I'm bothered by ostentatious professions of one's religious faith, which generally turn out not to be so much a profession of faith as an aggressive profession of one's sense of superiority.
I think I agree - but I do have a sticker on my walker that says, "False prophets do not speak for me," and another that says, "Love your neighbor no exceptions." Not sure if you would consider that ostentatious. I don't drive, so stickers on my walker, have to do.

I've been doing the nuclear war thing to death in my spare time lately, so I opted for the critters and the flowers. ( I'll be honest, I do it all the time anyway)

Big Balls has resigned (means: was kicked out?) from DOGE (https://boingboing.net/2025/06/25/big-balls-dropped-from-government-position.html). There was a New Yorker thing about DOGE recently. I don't think it really conveyed how fucked up it was, but one thing they mentioned was that it was clearly Elon's baby. All the marching orders came from Elon, and everybody under him was a suck up who just wanted Elon's approval. DOGE was pretty much insulated from contact with people at the agencies they were swinging an axe through. Those staffers tried to send feedback, such as "hey, these cuts are stupid and will actually cause a net cost to the government." But that feedback channel did not exist. Elon wasn't listening, nor were his minions. Maybe without Musk on board, they will just start finding other gigs, like Big Balls.
That doesn't mean the minions aren't still embedded
AND Big Balls collected a salary equivalent to the highest GS-15 level -- which is what people who actually work for the government for 20 years do
