Guys, shut up, we know this did not happen in the Dead Poets Society movie film. Hey Wonkerinos, sorry to be bringing you all these stories about rape and sexual abuse on an otherwise pleasant Thursday, but here's a thing: Rhode Island State Police are investigating allegations of sexual abuse of more than two dozen students by employees of the prestigious St. George's School in the 1970s and '80s -- abuse the school admitted it "failed on several occasions" to report to authorities. It seems you just had to have a photograph which could point you out and thus tarnish the school. All the shit that can't be proven is of course, fine to sweep under the rug
Way OT, but on a happier note: "Looks like the perverts from Mattel need to conduct better product testing before going into production. Their vibrating Harry Potter broomstick has teenage girls everywhere going wild, but for all the wrong reasons."
Ass-rape and other forms of child abuse are well known to be "bonding" exercises in all-male institutions such as private schools, the military, the priesthood etc. Traumatic bonding is a very effective tool of brainwashing.
Ex-actly. Traumatic bonding creates bonds of silence/blackmail/servitude between the generations. Hence why child abuse is a feature, not a bug, in authoritarian societies.
When I was at a prep school very similar to this one at about the same time, you could cut the homophobia with a knife. We were constantly calling each other "faggot," and the idea of an out gay student was literally unthinkable.
There weren't any scandals like this while I attended, but one broke not long after I left. It's enough to make you think that sexual repression has unhealthy repercussions.

Someone rushed cops in Paris, with a meat cleaver in one hand, a paper printout of the Da'esh flag in the other, yelling Allahu Akbar?
That's not terrorism, that's suicide-by-cop.

Oh, I agree. But you know the wingnutosphere will make a big deal out of the tenuous Daesh connection to gin up th ol' fear machine.
True dat, it was a private school. Public schools had more process.
Tucker was on the school's fifty-to-a-side debate team.
