The unpleasant facts of the matter are these: there is only one thing that will stop the slow-motion genocide of American Black people, and everyone knows what it is. Writing to Congress won't do it. Running for office won't do it. Protests won't do it. Riots won't do it. The only thing that will stop the slaughter is the same thing that the Iranian people are doing, that Palestinians are doing, that all murderously oppressed people have done when their backs are against the wall.
Arm up and fight back, using whatever means and level of force is required. This is a fact that no one wants to face, so they shout it down and try to censor it off of the web whenever someone voices it.
Too bad, so sad. It's still true.
Once, long ago, someone once asked "Is life so dear, or is peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?" Sadly enough, yes, for many today it is.
It bothers me that even here there are less comments on this article than any other ... because that tells me that even here people don't give enough of a d*mn even as the increase in racism and the increase in hiding of racist acts (especially by the ENFORCEMENT) arm of the country affect EVERYONE in the country and is not just a "Black people problem".
Of course, even liberal/progressive/pro-democracy White people ALSO thought that voter suppression and gerrymandering were each a "Black people problem", both of which led us to have both George Santos and Jim Jordan in the U.S. House ... which I think even the most uninformed clueless person could perceive is ALL of our problems.
So long story short - THAT is what happens when "decent White people" don't care enough about racism.
Even though at this point I'm honestly not sure what, if anything, is a sufficient lever to keep this particular history from repeating itself
Though I’m a little bit behind the curve on Iran, my understanding is that the recent protests have been largely peaceful, except for violence police has instigated.
The Palestinians have been shooting at Israelis and the Israelis have been shooting at Palestinians for my whole life, and the Palestinians just keep more and more fucked over.
And it’s worked simply marvelously in Northern Ireland! Which is likely to join the Republic in the next 10 years, capping over 100 years of kneecapping.
The intention is recognized and understood, but the answer is political. It’s slow and it’s frustrating and it bears horrible martyrs, but it still beats war.
Wealthy is the key. Last summer or spring Boulder cops killed a white young man who was having a mental health crisis and called them for help.

Tourists should stop giving them their money. My mother was born there and I’ve always wanted to go, but never while that fucker is in power.
What if someone is having a mental health crisis and the other person calls and asks for an ambulance instead of police? Could that possibly be safer?
