I just could not stop watching the actor who played the mustache - that was some acting.

Good then maybe they'll decide it's time to rid themselves of those officer's who hate the people they're forced to deal with.

It's touching how grateful we are when a policeman is kind, because when they help us we're really in trouble. But it's a shame we have to be surprised and everything.

Ha ha that's a subtle kind of thing that they wouldn't recognize, since they won't recognize even obvious crimes like dui's by rich people. I mean that they will look the other way because rich white people are SO DIFFERENT from the criminals they enjoy arresting.

I'm so impressed by him. George Floyd wasn't killed in LA. It's so unlikely for a politician to feel inclined to act in these circumstances.

But the very best ideas were from that group that would like to replace a certain # of police with all those other specialties. Of course it's ingenious.

Independent prosecutor? Outside the local DA's office? Good idea. Wonder why nobody thought of it before? Look,I know this is really wild and not even my business as I'm not a U.S. citizen, but how about a U.S. Attorney General who's independent and not in anybody's corrupt pocket? Could it possibly work?

No, when we left Iraq. And we had all that stuff.

I nearly lost my mind today when I saw a video called "girl pulled out of car by cops by her hair" or something. Her name is Samantha something. Sorry!

It happened in Arcata, CA. The story is that she pulled the policewoman's hair but the policewoman pulled her hair. There's a whole other video where the video showing the cop pulling her hair is removed and the cop squeals 'cut my hair" to establish the lie.

It's all awful. But I nearly lost my mind bc I realized to what extent police now exist just to enforce respect for themselves. And also that they think it's normal to stop and arrest or just threaten people who are behaving like teenagers can and do and should, or who are just slightly odd. So what? Are we supposed to be burdened and yelled at for "behavior?"For rudeness? They can be rude as they like. And threaten anyone who's rude back with jail. Really?

That's what happens here. The victim isn't even black. It's just wrong in a larger sense. What are they even for? To be a burden to the population, with the excuse that some other time they keep the peace? Or save lives?

I wonder what they're all doing. Except the one who died, of course. Or as Trump would say, "So where's Andrea now?"

I notice that these videos that we see of really stupid police cases-- I mean where someone is videoing some miscarriage of justice-- say a black man is refusing to identify himself or something-- amazing how car after car of 'backup' arrives with hot to trot policemen with blank faces arrive, ready to stand around, ready to knock the guy down. It seems to me there are tons and tons of policemen just sitting around somewhere.

Maybe they should be. Can you imagine how people would react if a police officer shot Jeff Bezos in his own home, because the officer was walking by on the street and thought Bezos "looked suspicious?"

Ah, the classic defense budget excuse: "If we don't continue to get more and more and more money, you will be murdered in your beds by thugs/terrorists/foreign invaders." Schools? Fuck 'em. SNAP? Who REALLY needs to eat "food" on a regular basis? Infrastructure? Bridges and sewer systems should pull themselves up by their bootstraps! But we AWLAYS need more guns or else YOU HATE AMERICA AND WANT DRUG LORDS AND TERRORIST TO OVERRUN THE STREETS.

that's coming, the LA county sheriff's dept. has been one scandal after another lately and there is a citizens board that determines the budget and does oversight. I have a feeling those citizens on the board are preparing their chopping block
