"From the moment life begins at conception, we have a responsibility to do everything we can to protect that baby's life and the life of the mother."

Unfortunately the two are often mutually exclusive. There are times when the pregnancy WILL kill the pregnant person, or at least put their life in danger. And until pro-forced birthers acknowledge and deal with that fact, pregnant people will die needlessly.

I'm so tired of the "life beginning at the moment of conception" bullshit. The egg cell is alive. The sperm cell is alive. There is no break between the life in these two cells and the life in the fertilized egg. Life does not begin at conception, it continues.

Psst: fetuses can still be destroyed by guns. Republicans don't care about fetuses either.

He's mad that the statement centered on the woman, instead of the fetus. 🙄 Because of course he is. He's furious that the woman has the power of choice.

I recall many years ago seeing a play about gay penguins. One of the penguins sings the song "Defying Gravity." The other penguin asks what gravity is, and the first penguin responds "it's a law that says featherless birds can't fly." The second penguin asks "So it's a protest song?"

The play goes on to mention that the book "And Tango Makes Three" about those penguins and their kid was the most commonly banned book at the time.

I wonder whether there is any legal expert going to the states passing draconian forced birth laws, to explain what you just said to them. They are busy professionals, but I bet they'd make time for a meeting about their rights and the hazards of continuing to practice there. Maybe it is time for some of them to visit their state legislatures to talk openly about the pitfalls in the revision.

If you've got a grip on 18th century writing, it's obvious. 2a guarantees each State Governor a Militia. There is no individual right to own a gun. Militia Act of 1903 designated the National Guard as the only Militia. Because Congress has a right and duty to regulate firearms

The only winning move is not to play. Doctors (especially any that deal with any phase of pregnancy) would be wise to leave red states before they face an abortion-related criminal case that wrecks their lives.

As a radiologist (ultrasounds) and an attorney, that would be my advice.

No speciality, other than geriatrics perhaps, is outside the chance of being pulled into a case.
