I like the flipping the school board thing. Bout time we did some local races.

They're not as smexy as the nationals but they are very important also!

I'm really surprised this is the first I'm hearing that these losers moved to Florida and tried to run. I assume they campaigned? Has there just been so much other shit flying around that I missed this? Surely this was reported on...somewhere...

I hope you are satisfied, Madison will no longer be your play thing.

So the Zionist taking the seat in the one Black majority district in Florida gets no comment?

"(That’s two former Republicans in a row that Florida Democrats have run for governor, is that weird? That’s weird right?)"

Not at all. They know what it takes to win elections. Either they are craven opportunists or they have two brain cells that said, hey, this Republican shit is total ka-ka shit and I don't want the taint and stank for the rest of my life.

I guess this means Becerra is a shoo-in for California. He would be against any Republican here, with or without the Orangimandius endorsement.

Butler County is a reliably red county north of Pittsburgh, so this is a significant win.

Fun fact #1: Butler is where a Chi-chi’s restaurant gave hundreds of people hepatitis by serving them salsa made with onions grown in untreated sewage. It’s the main reason why there are no longer any Chi-chi’s restaurants.

Fun fact #2: when I used to work for the state, we had a long running dispute with the owner of a public pool who refused to repair the fence around it even after a dead deer was found floating it.

So the Republican party has now become like bad cops and bad priests. Just ignore the horrible shit they did, shuffle them off to another state, and let them do it again.

I am really worried about the election.

All Madison Cawthorn wanted to do was serve fellow Americans and naked wrestle his cousin.

There certainly seems to be a lot of carpetbagging going on in Republican politics. I'm not sure how someone from Illinoiis can best represent the interests of people in Florida. And I see that the Failson wing of the Democratic party is poo-pooing Ossoff for his crack about Trump preferring to travel with Natalie then deal with the country's problems. It was one of the few times the news has reported something a Democrat has said, and it has left Republicans in disarray, something that Democrats need to do more often. And it points out weird Trump is.

>>That’s two former Republicans in a row that Florida Democrats have run for governor, is that weird? That’s weird right?<<

That's not weird. That's Florida. But I repeat myself.

Florida actually isn't THAT red. It is really red outside the cities, north of the Palm Beach County line (everything south is Spanish Caribbean, not The South), and in Miami's Cuban enclaves. Broward County is probably one of the bluest counties in the country.

It's just that the meth-addled gator wrestlers, who live mostly in the north of the state, outnumber the rest of the state's voters.

O/T but I think Trump will marry Natalie!

eo's avatar

I think that Natalie is a "If you ever slight me, I will rip your face off" kind of girl, and I think Trump likes that about her.

Oh, God, more Trump spawn.

That one bullet point needs to be expanded: "Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz, the legacy Democratic congresscritter who ran the DNC in 2016 and whose Hillary candidacy would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for those meddling Bernie Bros, considered it her divine right to stay in Congress even after Whitebooted Thug DeSantis gerrymandered her seat. So of course she challenged in a Black-majority district which SHE would've lost if the Black community had coalesced against a single candidate, instead splitting their votes among the resigned-in-disgrace former holder of the seat and a rap artist."

Morning toot: "The most gratifying loss last night was that of a real treasonous creep, Alexander Vindman, to a Radical Left Lunatic, who can’t speak or think properly, and who will go down to certain defeat at the hands of Ashley Moody, a truly Fantastic Senator, from the Great State Florida. Vindman, if you remember, was the one who lied about my “Perfect Call” with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, only to find out that the conversation was routinely recorded and proved that I was 100% in the right (Completely Innocent!). It was, indeed, a Perfect Call, and the Dumocrats Fake Impeachment effort massively failed. Vindman should be prosecuted for what he did! President Donald J. TRUMP"

Alpaca22's avatar

I am glad Vindman lost. He is disgustingly awful with regards to Muslims, POC etc

"who can't speak or think properly"

Hmm. Trump wrote that, with his own tiny fingers. Impeached, twice, for cause.

BosGrl's avatar

Well, she's Black, so...

Cincinnatus's avatar

You know WHO ELSE is Black . .

"Donalds won his party’s nomination last night, and he is widely seen as the front-runner in the contest against the Republican turned Democrat David Jolly in November. A win would make Donalds Florida’s first Black governor. But he failed to capture more than 50 percent of the primary vote, after trailing Lt. Gov. Jay Collins in some largely white, rural counties in the northern part of the state. That raises questions about how enthusiastic Republicans in those areas will be for his campaign in the fall. It’s not the first time this summer that some white Republicans have shown reluctance to support Trump-endorsed candidates of color. In Central Michigan, Amir Hassan, a Navy veteran who is Black, lost a bid for the House to a little-known white candidate who had suspended his campaign."[NYT, today]

BosGrl's avatar

I'm so sick of it. We've been talking about the skin color of candidates for far too long.

We also need more Southeast Asian candidates.

True! Turns out that uneducated nitwit is the brains of the operation.
