Someone should sit Hegseth down and show him a couple "documentaries": Alien and Terminator II - no, I doubt he'll realise! - to demonstrate what women are capable of.

Dems had a chance this cycle to TAKE BACK the military/patriot mantle that they've owned for ever.

We still do. The GOP s u c k s on the military right now. Dems should own the military issue.

To be fair, I’m not sure I could tell Donald Trump Jr’s ass from a hole in the ground.

**DAILY TYRANNY ALERT, 12.12.2024**

MAGA’s Mob Rule: Pete Hegseth and the Senate’s Surrender

Apparently, the qualifications for Secretary of Defense now include a rap sheet of assaulting women and tattoos glorifying white supremacy. Enter Pete Hegseth, Trump’s latest controversial nominee, rammed through the Senate by his enforcers.

Steve Bannon, a far-right conspiracy kingpin, and Charlie Kirk, the loudmouth leader of Turning Point USA—a group infamous for inflaming divisions and launching relentless attacks to rile up its ultra-conservative base—spearheaded the effort to strong-arm senators into submission. Republican Senator Joni Ernst, initially critical of Hegseth, crumbled under a weekend of targeted harassment and veiled primary threats.

Let’s be clear: This isn’t about Hegseth’s qualifications—he has none. It’s about Trump’s political machine exerting brute force to demand loyalty, reward extremists, and crush dissent. Ernst’s retreat isn’t a victory for reasoned deliberation; it’s a triumph of intimidation.

Hegseth represents everything rotten about this process: accused of heinous crimes, flaunting bigoted tattoos, and shamelessly riding MAGA’s cult of personality. His nomination isn’t just disgraceful—it’s a glaring symbol of how far Trump’s backers will go to undermine our institutions.

If the Senate confirms Hegseth, it will be an outright surrender—a capitulation to bullying, extremism, and the shameless erosion of democratic principles. It will cement the reality that under Trump, fear—not integrity—steers this nation.

Anti-woke is a patently obvious code for no Blacks, no women.

Maybe indoctrinating all white MAGA boys into compulsory military service isn’t such a bad thing. It’s sorta their birth right. Most of them are gifted assault weapons by their 9th birthday, and told anyone who doesn’t look like them is an enemy. Let the woke liberal kids pursue secondary education and careers. The country is becoming more and more divided with the political rhetoric and misinformation flourishing today.

On second thought, a military comprised of 100% wingnut extremism may not be a great idea.

More chance of them actually obeying illegal orders to murder the winners of the 2026 World Series because one of them called Trump a blockhead.

I've always considered "woke" to be a right-wing construct, and expected that lefties would just not use the term. Because then it's clear the righties are just tilting at windmills, this imaginary "wokeness". But alas the left seems to have embraced 'woke' and so now it becomes another front in the culture wars, gradually gaining gravitas as it loses meaning.

It was an African American thing originally. You were woke because you actually paid attention to how you were getting screwed over by society.

Ta, Gary. Hegseth doesn't want women or gays in the military because they'd tell him to go back into the bathroom and wash his filthy hands.

It is interesting that Hegseth is going around promising the GQP that he will quit drinking, but not that he will quit roofing conservative women so he can rape them.

Clearly the Republican party has its priorities in order.

"The American military has had a recruitment problem for some years now. You might think you know some reasons for the shortfall: rising levels of physical unfitness among America’s youth, increased drug use as marijuana has been legalized, a crackdown on white supremacists already in the ranks, low if not below-poverty-level salaries, two decades of sending American soldiers off to be maimed and killed in dumb wars, constant stories about the Veterans Administration’s inability to provide those who do come back with the medical and emotional resources they need to readjust to civilian life. You could point to a long list of obstacles for recruiters."

Recruitment always falls when the job market is good and kids right out of high school can find a job that pays better and doesn't potentially lead to people shooting at you.

Thanks President Biden!

The military is a giant logistical puzzle. Men, machines, ships, planes, all work in concert, globally, to achieve their mission goals. They want to put a guy in charge whose idea of a "supply chain" is passing beers to his friends standing behind him at the bar.

Our Armed Forces definitely need more really *manly* men, who wouldn't let trivial ailments like bone spurs deter them from serving their country.
