The Vegas shooter stands out as the ONLY example of a mass shooter that didn't send up red flags...the exception that proves the rule...effectively, there are ALWAYS ALWAYS signs that someone is going to go postal. After the fact, we ALWAYS find that authorities had been warned, often MANY times by FRIENDS and FAMILY of the shooter. Maybe this isn't a job for the useless cops. Maybe there needs to be a task force solely dedicated to following up on these tips. When a potential shooters's fucking FAMILY is warning you of a possible episode you fucking LISTEN...

You really can't expect the authorities to do their jobs, that's crazy talk

Every time I read about another American shooting slaughter I feel so sorry for the families and for all Americans because I don’t know if there’s any way at all to stop this. The stupid decisions about guns at y’all’s Supreme Court has created such an evil little box that everyone has to live in whether they want to or not. I can’t imagine how you’d get a satisfactory response here. My heart just hurts for you, and for all these poor peoples’ families, including the gunman’s, who tried SO FUCKING HARD and still had the worst happen after all that.

It’s almost not satire to suggest the NRA’s slogan for 2024 will be, “every American is entitled to at least one mass shooting.”

It could be our newest “Reality Show.”

Sponsored by the NRA and Remington Arms.

Contestants would be scored on the basis of content and style: total kills and how they did it.

If everyone is armed, as the NRA and most Republicans want, it’s raises few flags when a person is thought to be unstable or at risk of harming themselves or others. But a routine traffic stop with a black driver announcing he has a secured pistol in the vehicle, now you get the attention of authorities. It shouldn’t be controversial that when a person is suffering from obvious mental health problems, even displaying violent behavior, fantasies or delusions, that person should lose their legal access to firearms, at least temporarily. It shouldn’t be controversial, but it is. That’s how far from sensible America is on this crisis.

Ummm... reports of people who are armed and dangerous are such a routine they get ignored? I think i begin to see the problem

How come ONE gun doesn't satisfy the 2nd Amendment? It's always 10-15 or 50 guns. These assholes have 2 hands and that's the most guns they can shoot at any one time. One, maybe 2, should be plenty. And they shouldn't need guns of war for hunting or for personal protection. This shit needs to change, pronto.

How are they going to be able to do their Red Dawn cosplay properly with only one or two guns??

The way I used to do it, thumbs and pointer fingers (pew, pew, pew). I never missed.

Nah, brah -- you have to have your primary weapon, your backup weapon, and then your holdout weapon in case you lose the first two. Have you never watched an action movie?

Also, more seriously, there are a lot of hunters that will disagree with you, as they are great at justifying all the different shotguns/hunting rifles they own -- "Well, this one's for upland birds, this one's for waterfowl, this one's for turkeys, this one's for deer, this one is for when I finally save up to go on that elk hunting trip I've been wanting to do since I read about one in Field & Stream..."

Hmm “wellness check” doesn’t sound like it would be the same as “armed potential murderer” check. No one said they thought he had fallen down in the bathtub. Fucking morons. ….

I started adding up all the human pain here, starting with the victims, and everyone who loved and loves them, and yes, the very ill man who did not get the help he needed and I just can't fucking stand it.

All I have to say about this is that I am pretty sure that if Card had been Black and living in Selma, AL, the cops would have tracked him down and probably shot him dead on the spot.

How it is that EVERY fuxking cop in America isn’t vehemently pro-gun-law is WAY beyond me.

“You want to be to do a wellness check on WHO?!? That asshole at the end of the street with a million guns? FACK no. How about you let some republicans member of the HoR go check on him.”

Presumably because some people who are tribally anti-gun law to begin with become cops, and nothing they see changes their mind?

What happened to that?
