Trump has already been hit with two horking big fines. Now we start picking out the drapes for his cell window and a matching duvet for his cot.

Well done, Evan!

This one can do something that will improve things later.

Once he's convicted, even without prison time, he's got a criminal record.

One of the ingredients used in calculating how long a Federal sentence runs is the guilty person's criminal record.

This could cost him additional prison time even if New York does a non-custodial sentence.

Ta, Evan. Trump is scared shitless. I'd love for him to end up imprisoned, but I don't believe it's ever going to happen. What I would be thrilled to see is him reduced to penury. Abject poverty for TFG; I want him so poor he can't even pay attention.

Mark Linimon's avatar

Like he ever paid attention -- but it's a good line.

He needs to lose his freedom. He doesn’t have money, he just frauds. Ivanka probably has more money, maybe why they are shunning Pops!

I will settle for him being of no more use to Vlad so Vlad stops holding back the Russian mobsters whose money laundering Trump skimmed from.

The guy with 81 years, or the guy with 91 felony counts? Decisions, decisions...

Both Nancy and Mitch are the same age or older

I would happily vote for a House Plant with Biden's Cabinet then consider voting for that bucket full of puss and his merry band of hucksters and hoodlums. Luckily I get to vote for a guy who actually does stuff instead.

Moar trials for the Orange Quisling! Lock him up forever! Make him live on bread without water, and water without bread! Never let him see the sky again!

Which causes me to wonder whether he’s ever looked up at the sky.

Trump's lawyers are really the best of the best at getting him convicted. He couldn't have hired better people for that objective.

That's why I hope none of them get disbarred. Yet.

Am I reading this right?

"Donald Trump’s trial on charges that he hoarded classified military secrets at his Mar-a-Lago estate will remain scheduled for May 20, the federal judge overseeing the case ruled Friday, rejecting for now demands by the former president to postpone the case until after the presidential election next November."

The judge in charge (at least for now, till she commits some egregious reversible-on-appeal and Jack Smith gets her recused) in that case is Judge Loose Cannon

Daydrinking is my JOB!'s avatar

With the wiggle spot that she can still throw the prosecution under the bus in March.

About Aileen Cannon and the classified docs trial:

I know a lot of people get annoyed at Meidas Touch but I find the lawyers (Ben Meiselas, Karen Friedman Agnifilo, Michael Popok) to be pretty informative and knowledgeable about the minutiae of the various legal issues and right on the money with their predictions.

So they're saying that Cannon has pretty much succeeded in running out the clock, and this trial is going to be happening in 2025. But also she's given Jack Smith the ammunition to have her removed. So it won't be her presiding in '25.

So all she's done for The Former Guy is stretch out the pain. He's about to have a $500M+ judgment against him for the E. Jean Carroll case, then move right into a conviction from Alvin Bragg, then a bunch of other bad news taking him up to jail time for the documents.

I can live with that.

Don'tBlameTheDog's avatar

Just FYI, the $500 million is New York suing him for decades of fraud in order to avoid taxes and lower his interest rates on loans. E Jean was the $83 million. It's hard to keep up!

Notorious J.I.M.'s avatar

A few million here, a few million there, after awhile it adds up to real money.

avidlurker's avatar

Thanks for the correction. It is hard to keep up. I think there’s a DC criminal case too but I’ve lost track of what the status of that one is and what the charges are. And probably others I’ve forgotten.

Don'tBlameTheDog's avatar

I know there are multiple civil cases against him in that jurisdiction related to Jan 6 brought by Capitol Police and some Democrat House of Reps. There very likely are more. I can't keep up. What a crook!
