I would just point out that the republicans have gotten millions of dollars donated to their PAC from russian businessmen with ties to the russian oligarchs. They haven't even bothered to cover their tracks. Is Rubio a russian asset? Depends on if you think of having a dumbass like him on your payroll an asset. GOP campaigns took $7.35 million from oligarch linked to RussiaDonald Trump and the political action committees for Mitch McConnell, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, Lindsey Graham https://www.dallasnews.com/...

Yes, he could be and asset as well as an ass.

WTF happened to Rubio's ears? He looks like he spent a lifetime grappling with Johnny Valentine.

As I said, he can't be that dumb. Self-serving and amoral, certainly. And he doesn't have to be an official "asset", the R party is totally under the control of the oligarchs- Russian AND US (possibly other places)- and primarily functions to advance that small group's agenda (all the wealth, all the power, and the dismantling of any sort of democracy or social cohesion).

How hard is it for these GQP assholes to just say "I messed up, I shouldn't have done that, and I apologize"? They'll try to shift blame and pull out every ridiculous excuse they can think of rather than just be adult humans and admit they made a mistake. It's such a damaging mindset that lets their voters think they can behave in the same way, and we've all seen how well that's worked out for the country the last few years.

Because if they're wrong about one thing, that means they're automatically wrong about everything, at least in the mind of their voters. These people forget even politicians are human beings.

Yes he can. Tom Cotton is a Harvard Law graduate, and look how much he's overreached in the past few years. It's like these people busted their asses to get the best possible education, and then immediately forgot it all as soon as they got elected.

Not all or even most of us, but more than enough.

Forgotten? I'd say disregarded. Again, it's not stupidity for these people -it's greed, and a total lack of ethics. There ARE truly stupid people in office- Wonkette readers certainly can name a few!- but THESE guys knew wha they were doing and did not care.

Keyboard heroes like Rubio couldn't spell OPSEC if they had all five letters to work with.

His defense is "I already did it before she asked," which tells me that she asked because they'd done it, having assumed they'd have sense enough not to do it in the first place. She's not used to dealing with Repoops, and didn't realize you have to spell out everything, and sometimes even that's not enough.

Considering he's the fucking Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, one can forgive her for assuming he'd show some intelligence savvy regarding coms and a minimum of respect by actually listening to the meeting instead of tweeting. Again, she doesn't know Repoops.

The answer to #1 is: attention whore + little man insecurity complex. Look everyone, I'm important!

In all fairness to Rubio, he rarely shows up to do his job so he may have been confused at how the whole committee meeting thing works. Unfortunately, he, and Skeletor Scott, who really wants to raise taxes on poor people, eliminate social security and Medicare (If he can't defraud it for millions any longer why bother keeping it.) are my Senators. Sorry everyone.

I want to know who that young man is that got seated between those fools, and what his lapel pin represents. Anybody recognize it? Also, who is the woman in front smiling at their antics (or at the horror story Biden's telling, or both)? I assume she's a red state pol of some flavor but I don't have all their faces memorized.

In fairness, I just went and read that op-ed piece. He never uses the word "cancellation" (or "cancel") in the entire thing, so I suspect someone at the NYT created the heading for the piece. Also, the piece is entirely anti-Russia, and focused almost totally on China doing its part to sanction Putin, and why it benefits China to do so.

Saw that. Fuckers.

Also they have not respected the ceasefires created to evacuate people.

No one trusts Russia for basically anything. There is no honor, only Putin's evil madness.
