We are still going to be battling the disinformation campaign after Trump leaves. Fox isn’t interested in profit from advertisers. It’s a propaganda machine, and it belongs to our enemies. The Antifa boogeyman is convenient for explaining away more than just this one event, or even using it to cover for plants operating to discredit honorable protests. Imagine how they can continue to use it to blame domestic terrorism going forward, as we are trying to get control of our Nazi problem. How often are the police going to let fellow Nazis out, not charging them, by declaring they accidentally nabbed them but were only Antifa... they were all dressed similarly?
We are going to have to address the huge problem with obvious propaganda warfare quickly, or it’ll end us. There are too many people who are easily misled, and education alone takes too much time to effectively change that. Either we fight fire with fire, or we take away their weapon.

I was arguing with a friend a couple of days ago---one of that rare breed, a moderate Republican who voted for Biden---about free speech, "biased" media, censored social media, etc. He turns out to be a 1st Amendment absolutist. I'm not any longer. I told him that liberal interpretations of the 1st and the 2nd Amendments combined are going to destroy us. He was even arguing, in regard to biased media, that truth is relative. (So post-modern!) I said "facts are facts and Fox doesn't report them. They deliberately lie--it's far beyond bias." Interesting how our positions have shifted, even though he calls himself a conservative, and I call myself a progressive.
I don’t think it should require them to literally stand inside the movie theater and shout “fire!” before we are willing to say they incite violence. We go out of our way to warn people not to let their kids look at boobs. Why can’t we at least go out of our way to clarify fact from intentionally dangerous fiction in an effective manner that conveys the seriousness of the potential damage if people are not made aware prior to viewing?
Fox doesn't need profits from advertisers. They make a profit just from the rights fees cable companies pay to put them on the air for their cult followers. Though those fees will fall dramatically during the next round of negotiations if ratings continue their post-election cratering.
