I live in northern New Jersey. When it snows here, about 40% of the people freak while the rest of us suck it up. Interestingly, it used to snow a lot more here. In 1994 we had 17 major snowstorms in one season. But climate has changed.I'm from the midwest. We are used to snow. No biggie to sleep over in the gym because there was a blizzard during the state basketball tournament. Almost every year, in fact.

"Republicans are obsessed with painting Biden as Jimmy Carter 2.0."

Jimmy Carter 1.0 wasn't half bad, but it is an article of faith among Republicans, ever since Reagan, that the 1970s experienced an economic disaster worse than the Great Depression, and that we must dismantle the New Deal because it basically caused the disaster of the 1970s.

I am so with you. My own health problems are bad enough without adding to them by reading about how these greedy assed people want to kill me before my time. They remind me of kids who want to knock out the ice cream cone from your hands while holding on to their melting ice cream bar. They are going to bust hell wide open!

I'm noticing it seems to be endemic mostly in the big chains. The little local chains seem to be doing okay.

It's not even that much at the big chains here; the other store I shop at is a Fry's (former big chain now owned by Krogers) and it's well stocked any more. (and Sprouts is a pretty big chain, too 360 stores coast to coast, including one about 5 or 6 miles away from Marsha in TN!)

I think people are just "suddenly noticing" that bad weather causes problems because the media is going nuts with it. (and global warming is making winter particularly fucky for the East Coast this year!)

They tried, they REALLY TRIED to portray Christmas as "OMG NO Presents For Anyone!!! Thanks Biden!" and that blew back in a spectacular manner (higher retail sales than 2018 and 2019)

There are legit supply chain shortages (Car electronics parts; cream cheese WTF??) but the 'bare shelves' crap we're getting lately is largely this season's "SHARK ATTACK!!!" IE: shameless media sensationalization of a fake problem.

Here in NYC, I didn't buy berries because I only eat organic berries, and they were out of my price range. Avocado? Plentiful. Same with celery, and that too must be organic because it's always on EWG's Dirty Dozen list. Marsha is a liar and an idiot.

Avocados are so plentiful right now they are a loss leader special in every supermarket flyer. I also had no problem getting [organic] celery and [also organic] lettuce in my online grocery order yesterday. Berries are out of season, Marsha. Eat citrus in the winter. It's plentiful and tasty.

GOP Sen: "I've got a plan, Senator... We'll do as near to nothing as we can possibly do for the indefinite future vis-a-vis the COVID pandemic. This will, undoubtedly, kill great swathes of our faithful, feckless voters. Then we'll blame it on the Democrats!"Other GOP Sen: "Sound, Senator. Absolutely seamless!!"
