I don't know what insurance is like for a gun store, but I imagine it would be higher than your average non-gun-related store. These added precautions could lower their insurance bill.

Kind of an amazing number of them! Since 1986, every single gubernatorial election in Massachusetts has been won by a Republican, with the exception of Deval Patrick in 2006 and 2010.
I grew up in a town in northern Michigan, an area that we refugees refer to as 'North Redneckistan, where a house with no guns was rarer than one with five or six. Do you know how many children were killed by firearms during the 20 years that I lived there? Zero. There were some suicides and some hunting accidents, one or two cheating husbands, and just before I escaped some asshole from downstate killed the cashier in an armed robbery. The presence of a lot of guns doesn't necessarily mean open warfare on the streets, just ask the people in Switzerland. It's the lack of training and responsibility.
The ones worried about lowering insurance costs would have already taken all these steps and more. The ones complaining are likely to be the fraudsters.
I remember back in the 70s when anti bullying measures were nonexistent. Jocks on the football team made a regular practice of beating up us queer kids who did things like drama club, orchestra, and OMG used the library. Thing is 10, 12 years later I would see many of the same jocks crusing on summer nights in our local anonymous in the bushes sexy fun time park. Good times.
Hogan is done, MD Governers can only serve for two terms. The list of Democrat candidates is pretty strong this time around, so my fingers are crossed that the winner of the primary will win the state house.

I have lived in Maryland for 3 years and as far as I can tell, the only people Hogan cares about are the business operators in Ocean City.
