Fact: It is horrible that anyone is raped and murdered in the US by an illegal immigrant.

Another fact: There are hundreds if not thousands of homegrown US citizens who would have been happy to do it.

If you don't also have the official stamp on them that identifies you as part of the PAFB Cult then you will still be subject to deportation, all the sorrys

Will everyone in the USA (including you and me) be required to show paperwork to prove that we are citizens? Aren't there citizens who don't have paperwork to prove their citizenship?

Those jerks need fact checkers. Lindsay Graham asked what the #1 killer of children is and some other jerk said drugs from Mexico. Everyone knows it is GUNS. I can’t listen to this BS

It seems like the Democratic chair of the committee could gavel down Repukes who constantly talk over witnesses and will not let them give even a brief answer to their questions. Like "Senator Ass Hat, let the witness answer the question."

He COULD.

But it's Dick Durbin.

So he WON'T.

I watched and am sick to my stomach. The Dems have no fight in them, and hung their friendly witnesses out to dry and be cruelly lectured, taunted, insulted and lied to. Where's the pushback? The MAGALOONS lied, distorted and pandered to the bereaved mother. We are in for it.

Expand full comment
"M"'s avatar

The pushback is -- as it has been for at least several decades -- from the Black left and Hispanic left whom WHITE DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP WILL NOT LET SPEAK

If you can't first see that, we can't help you

Sen. Padilla , who chaired the committee hearing, is the son of Mexican immigrants. He spoke. He was heard. He wasn't bad. He was, like all the rest of the “let's take the high road” Dems, clear, correct but with no fire.

"M"'s avatar

With respect, he would do better to find some. Fire, that is.

Especially since he's the senior Senator from California AND both his parents are immigrants?

He'll have a Stephen Miller sized target on his face

Ever since Clinton signed draconian immigration "reform" in 1996, Ds have been fairly terrible on immigration - DACA excepted plus a few other positive tweaks.

As a purely political calculus, they may not be entirely wrong.

As a moral & human rights issue however...

True, but I'm f there was ever a time to get riled up and get the Dem base riled up, it's now. It's always been a moral & human rights issue for many of us.

If these despicable rethuglican senators would STFU and let the witnesses respond we might learn something. All this shows me is that a bunch of blowhards are performing for the orange dipshit. Turd Cruz is putting on his pitiful show right now.
