I hate to think of that face showing glee. The sight would frighten a cape buffalo.

I'm not sure you are safe from food poisoning anywhere. It's happened to me at half the restaurants in my town at one time or another.

The Constitution disagrees with you.

Only homicides are counted.

So the Secret Service is paranoid?

Michael Ejercito's avatar

So then when do we disarm the Secret Service's presidential security detail.

Maybe. But the Constitution can be amended, it's not a sacred document set in stone. And "Bear Arms" in the common usage of the times meant to fight for your country, not to own your own private arsenal. For much of our history that's how it was interpreted, the idea that it meant as many guns for anyone who wants them with no restrictions is a newer concept. Coincidentally, that change occurred when gun manufacturers took over the NRA leadership. Hmm, I wonder if there's a connection.

Sounds like a Well-regulated Militia.

Michael Ejercito's avatar

Since when was the Secret Service a militia?

Michael Ejercito's avatar

So the government gets to be paranoid, but not the general public?

DahBoner's avatar

You're right. The National Guard is the Militia spoken of in the 2nd.

If you ain't in the Guard, you ain't Militia.

Good catch!
