I used to live in his district (FL Panhandle) and there are lots of gun-humping white middle-aged Conservatives there. It's very highly populated with military families too, the majority of whom are white and Conservative. The rest includes some liberals and a small proportion of minority military members who, sadly, have to serve side by side with these assholes. I feel for them. The friends from there whom I've stayed in touch with said they get openly harassed when they go in public wearing their masks by middle-aged and older angry white men. When we lived there, I marveled at the nasty bumper stickers. They truly guzzle the conservative hate Kool-Aid. I'm so glad we moved away. These are just the type of people who prop up Gaetz. They love his warmongering and egg it on every chance they get. When Gaetz was challenged by a female first-generation Filipino American immigrant, Dr. Jennifer Zimmerman (she's a pediatrician) in the 2018 election, he won his seat by a pretty huge margin - roughly 70%-30%. He comes up with these outlandish ideas because he's stewing in a sea of people who urge him to "keep doing it".
