Please, please, PLEASE do not use the name Gaetz and "Sex Probe" in the same sentence ... I get anxiety. Save it for his term in jail where it will have a more appropriate meaning.

Something Moses-boy should think about, guess Gaetz has to humiliate the Republicans again. You love to see it.

As may have commented elsewhere, ew.

No need to apologize for typing “organs” in this post when we already had “probe” to set the tone

Probably the reason I can't fathom this behavior is I can't imagine wanting to have sex with a seventeen-year-old. How good could they possibly be? Give me a mature, enthusiastic woman who's been around the block a few times and knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go out and get it.

Now, that's fun in bed.

To be fair, I often used to dream about having sex with a 17 year old. Of course, I was also 17.

They are not experienced enough to know to run away, when Matt corners them, poor things.

Gonna take a wild guess that the source is MTG herself, because she can't stand having to share the title of most repulsive person in Congress.

I hate Gaetz more than any Republican could.

Ethereal Fairy's avatar

He is the personification of the dreaded "Floriduh-Man", and those are his voters, as he comes from their spawning ground, in the panhandle.

My husband, when stationed at uscg Destin, had the misfortune of having to drive Gaetz around on his boat. He was a state rep at that time but still a jacka$$

Back when Matt's daddy got him out of those two, or was it three, DUIs.

Hey Matt, pro tip, go see Paxton in Texas.

But, Dems in disarray, amirite?

I’m pretty bitter we didn’t keep the house. But if they get Gary’s in prison I’ll take it. Not sure what Garlands problem is. Gaetz is guilt as shit. We literally have receipts

Ethereal Fairy's avatar

The problem is his daddy's rich, and coughed up for the best lawyer, and they weren't sure they could win, not that Matty was innocent as he claims.

Void's avatar

I hear you. And yet we have receipts.

Ethereal Fairy's avatar

Hopefully his own people will bite the bullet, and oust him.

I like the way Evan carefully framed "easily the most hated person in the entire House of Representatives" just so he did not have to type the name Ted Cruz.

Pexas Teat's avatar

Cruz is a Senator, somehow

There's no criminal charge or even investigation pending against Gaetz, is there? I mean, to be a little crass and gross about it, the girl he diddled was 17, and I think that's legal in Florida. Barely.

IOW, the Republicans are pursuing this just because they don't like Gaetz. Which shows you what a dick he is.

Ethereal Fairy's avatar

Nope. 18 years old

"In the state of Florida, the age of consent for sexual activity is 18 years old. This means that anyone under the age of 18 is legally unable to give legally effective consent to sexual activity. This means that engaging in sexual activity with a minor, even if consensual, can lead to serious criminal charges."

Bitter Scribe's avatar

Ha! OK, thanks for the info.

So if the kid was in fact 17, what was holding up a criminal charge?

Ethereal Fairy's avatar

There was some fuckery there, they intimidated the witness, and the DOJ can't protect her enough, she got scared, and I can't blame her. Also because she didn't come out, they claim she is an unreliable witness. They also claim that the guy who was there and cooperated is ...you guessed it! an unreliable witness because he is a criminal!

Bitter Scribe's avatar

That would be the genius who set his (public) office on fire trying to mine cryptocurrency, right? What's his name, Greenburg or something?

Ethereal Fairy's avatar

Bingo! Joel Greenberg

Mr Greenberg then spent $66,000 on a server room for a private cryptocurrency company he founded and operated from within a county building called Government Blockchain Systems LLC.

The servers were incorrectly installed, overloaded a circuit breaker, and started a fire causing $6,700 in damage to the building that was not covered by insurance.

He also was making phony driver's licenses for the underage girls they were dating.

Prior to the federal investigation, which began in April 2019, Greenberg had been using his position as Tax Collector to acquire driver’s licenses before they were shredded, mining the information in an illegal database funded by taxpayers. In some cases, he also used the repossessed licenses to make fake IDs for underage girls.

On April 1,Greenberg was charged with using $432,000 in taxpayer money to buy cryptocurrency and signed basketball memorabilia. So far, he has complied with federal investigators in the probe of Gaetz.

I could be wrong, but is it due to the trafficking part? Paying a minor for sex seems illegal. Or maybe the ethics committee is trying to hold sitting members of congress to a higher moral standar.... hah hah hah just kidding, I can't even complete that thought without cracking myself up.
