Les Moonves was revered by media/money power entities. Ughhh. Blechhh. Such grossness. Is it really that difficult to NOT endow a creepy sexual assaulter a primo CEO job??

Yeah, not really - especially when the shoe fits, which your knee-jerk white fragility brand of defensiveness tells me it might. Hit dogs *will* holler.

Yeah, that's a ridiculously broad brush you're slinging around there.

I taught my daughters to accept no bullshit from men, and taught them that getting groped or grabbed, or the attempt to do worse would earn the male a broken bone, at the very least. And then I taught them how to do just that.

But I also taught them that, no matter what, I would believe them, have their back, and back them up, with moral or emotional support, or if need be, bail money. And that NO job was worth tolerating this kind of shit.Because NOBODY should have to tolerate it, just to get or keep a job. And maybe, just maybe, if these kinds of men would have to pay a very painful price for their actions, they'd think hard about ever trying it to begin with..

That....is some fucked up stuff. As a guy who has not only NOT done such things, but not even considered such acts, I apologize.

WTF is wrong with men? I would NEVER consider doing anything like what goes on. Then again, I've never had that kind of wealth and power. I have to wonder, is it the men themselves, or is it the combination of being male combined with the wealth and power and lack of restrictions on them? None of which excuses such barbarity, just curious.

Actually, they were the only non-Matlock channel. The show started on NBC, then moved to ABC.

I've always hired as many women as I can find which isn't easy in the tech business because they make better employees but there's always the problem of men and their behavior that requires constant vigilance.

Years ago when I had a law practice I hired a young woman who was especially attractive. It was her first job and within days of her employment two married male clients begged me to "set them up" with her.

It shocked and angered me for three reasons. The first was the revelation of how morally low they were and the second and third was that they thought that she and I would be "cool" with "wink, wink" doing that.

I ended up calling her in my office and relayed what had happened and told her if she didn't already know what to look out for in the business world and that I wanted her to report any untoward behavior because I could fire clients easier than employees.

Women aren't perfect. We're all human but men especially have a problem they have to be aware of and deal with when it comes to women.

My wife is plenty hot for me, sarcastic and smart and makes my world function. And on another continent.

To be fair, she's not very sarcastic, but she is much smarter and way hotter. Let me rephrase that: much smarter, and objectively extremely hot. "Way hotter" is not particularly meaningful, being a relative comparison, and both 40 and 1,000 are way hotter than 1.Also, I fully appreciate my luck, but you know, there are lots of wonderful women out there; you don't have to be lucky to find someone great - just reasonably attentive. One man's meat is another man's poison (and vice-versa), and you can't tell which is which without a bit of judicious testing. I was lucky in that I stumbled across a wonderful match for me early on, but it took a lot of persistent effort to manage to convince her that I was an acceptable match for her.
