The White Sox avoided breaking the MLB season loss record *again.* Their third win in a row.

All the ghouls who turned out at the Rate (a tomb up to now, natch) to see the record fall were sorely disappointed. GOOD. I'm no Sox fan, but this is people's livelihoods you're snickering at.

It's to remind everyone that DETROIT DID IT FIRST! Juuuuuuuust squeaking away from the MLB loss record? Detroit did it first. Indicted mayor? Detroit did it first.

(Though I will say, and this is possible just because I only see the national media and not the local media this time, the reaction to the Adams indictment is far less racist than the reaction to Kilpatrick was.)

That may be because Adams is seen as a rightie anyway.

Ta, Sara. Your caption reminds me of a poem from the great Earlene Smith:

Look at that piece of petrified pussy

Standing out there in the bay with all them

Spikes sticking out of her goddamned head

Don't you believe that Statue of Liberty bullshit.

Earlene was a poet, fashion designer, artist, beauty, and playwright. I miss her.

I pay passing little attention to the goings on in NYC, what with not living there and not having visited in a decade and just having lots of other things on my plate. And with all that, even I have been increasingly aware that Eric Adams was some special kind of slimeball, so all this is a surprise only in terms of how slimy he truly is.

Adams was canoodling with Uzbeki beki stan stan? No problem. Herman Cain can step in and take over those duties. He's tanned, ready, and rested.

William “Boss” Tweed would be jealous if he weren't so dead. Eric "Boss" Adams seems to be vying for the title of most corrupt political boss of New York City.

Pet rats are adorable. Feral rats, well, they can be a problem. Sara, if you haven't heard the following show from This American Life, I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy it. Particularly Act One.

Like most people, I dislike rats and think Sara is a little weird at times. You do you, Sara!

But I think we can all agree that rats are more cuddly and appealing than Eric Adams and his cronies. And Rudy Giuliani finally knows who his cellmate will be, that's gotta be one less worry for him!

I really hate how some Black elected officials keep trying to shoulder immigrants aside on the grounds that their own people don't get enough of the pie. It's not a good look.

There was a guy with a megaphone this AM shouting at Adams "this isn't a BLACK thing, this is a CRIMINAL thing." I'm pretty sure megaphone guy was black, and Adams actually looked slightly embarrassed.

Nobody can make him resign and there are no recalls.

It’s all in Kathy Hochul’s hands and she is in a land far far away, called Albany, where NYC is a blip on the periphery of their vision.

Other than the bald tail, rats are as intelligent as other mammals and share 90% of genes, which is how millions of them help us understand human disease. Eric Adams might meet a few at MDC or Riker’s.

Gotham truly needs a hero right now; maybe they should get the Batsignal out of storage — toot sweet!

Gotham was based on Chicago. Metropolis is New York.

And, Central City, home of the Flash and halfway between Gotham and Metropolis, is Columbus, Ohio.
