Well DAMMIT, Evan. Crying before the first meeting of the day. Now I'm gonna have red eyes and a runny nose on mah zoom call and I will be SO HAPPY and be sure to tell them all why.

I spent way too long trying to figure out if he’s just casually/incorrectly holding a slice of pizza at the Grand Canyon before I realized that was a rock in the background of the header photo.

Good for him, I hope he feels much more comfortable in his personal and public life now.

This is why I don't understand hateful people. Happiness in life is all that matters. If my son or daughter came out as gay I would just care if they were happy or not.

I’m so happy for Carl. He really seems to be a good man. He was on the Bucs for a couple of years and is a big team player. I wish him the best

Ray McDonald, who played for the Washington franchise for a couple years (1967-68) was pretty openly gay. He didn't have Instagram, but he did get arrested in 1968 in DC for having sex with another man. Despite leading all college running backs in rushing, he would have gone undrafted -- due to the gayness -- but for the personal intervention of the Washington team's owner. Vince Lombardi threatened to fire any coach who treated McDonald as anything other than another football player.

Yay, Carl! It’s great to see big, strong athletes come out. Kids look up to lots of heroes, including certainly athletes. Bigots like to equate “gay” with “weak,” which is another reason this is great. Because Carl could flatten most bigots with one arm.
