Hey, I know you’re just simplifying for rhetoric, but, likemany progressive citizens of Kentucky, I went to the polls to try to keep thislunacy from coming to pass. Not only am I mortified by the future representedby the outcome, but also I’m left to feel as if my vote counted for nothing. This was not a matter of my sitting on my ass. In fact, for all of my votesagainst them over the years, I’ve got Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul, and now Matt Bevin.FML.

Yeah, but you got out and voted. That's all any of us can do. It's all those people who didn't that bothers me.

Take a look at this commentary on the KY governor's race results and see what you think. It's interesting. I hope someone checks into it. http://bradblog.com/?p=11430

Thanks. I read it. Can't say this restores much hope. I'm just too well defeated. The implications of the blog post, like the outcome of yesterday's vote, are too dismal to contemplate.

I understand. Sometimes I feel like all we do is try to put out brush fires lit by a thousand crazed arsonists. Then I resort to cute hamster videos and try to recover my sanity..somewhat.

We’re not saying outgoing Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear was any dream beau or anything; he led Kentucky’s doomed mission to maintain its ban on marriage equality to the very bitter end, even after all the state’s judges and Attorney General Jack Conway — the Democrat who just lost to Bevin, oy — told him that was big fat waste of taxpayer dollars.

Huh? Was Gov. Beshear the one demanding for the the 500th time that Kim "I demand Jesus has me 'washed clean' of the gay" Davis had to do her damn job regardless of what rainbow-themed cooties she thinks she's going to to catch from handing out marriage licenses? If he was so against gays utelizing thier legally-protected rights, he's be her ally and would support her law-breaking. Weird.

Thanks for your kind wishes. Where I live now the heat and the stupidity are getting to be overwhelming, so it's definitely time for a change.

It's also the Conservative raison d'etre which is where we are at now.

Do you normally use sexually deviant terms to describe people who have different views than you? Must be a new quality in being "tolerant and open minded". The term "tea baggin" is a term used to describe the sexual act of someone placing their scrotum in the mouth of another person. As a "professional" journalist why would you use such inaccurate language?

@Biel_ze_Bubba:disqus you are wrong, 30% of the voters turned out. Beshear was relected in 2011 and only 28% of voters turned out. Didn't hear you people screaming about voter turn out back then.

Oh you poor thing. You're defending someone who has already shown himself to be one of the slimiest pieces of trash ever to wallow up out of the Tea Party swamp.Bevin is going to end his career in prison. Count on it. He is no good for Kentucky. He will hurt people before he's through. YOU will get to have that on your conscience, "Adam." It will be YOUR fault.
