What sticks in my mind is that police unions endorsed Trump. If they are enemies of both the public and their members, what are they for?

It takes Wajahat Ali to explain this -- a WHOLE LOT of institutions had to fail for things to get this bad.

We have no Fairness Doctrine in media bc Ronnie Raygun vetoed the one the then-Democratic Congress put in place and they didn't have the votes to override it.

Antitrust laws failed because of the lobbyists so billionaires took over the media corporations so they don't feel obligated to report out the truth anymore even though journalism is the only Constitutionally-protected profession.

The John Lewis Voting Rights Act passed twice in the House but couldn't get passed in a Democratic Senate bc Joe Manchin and Kristen Sinema are white supremacists even though they were nominal Democrats and those of us who screamed in 2018 about having a Democratic supermajority in the Senate for JUST THAT REASON so we could overcome any pairs of objections like that were either shouted at to pipe down & told we didn't know what we were talking about OR we were patted on the head & told not to worry about it.

And don't get me started on how many chances Merrick Garland had to prosecute Donald Trump and failed at it even though the latter is a career criminal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dn7D6Xf04g4

Or the Senate Democrats' failure to pull John Roberts up on the carpet

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2UbF0wgtGw&t=59s

Or the 90+million people who "didn't feel like voting" when Donald Trump & MVP Harris received about 70+ million votes

Or the CHEATING that Donald & Elon did that people know about but that the people who have the power to do something about don't have the guts to go through the "you're just like the 2020 Republicans" jeers EVEN THOUGH OUR SIDE ACTUALLY HAS EVIDENCE

https://thiswillhold.substack.com/p/she-won-they-didnt-just-change-the

But there's one more thing

Unlike Germany and unlike South Africa --

the United States NEVER HAD a Truth & Reconciliation Commission / Thing in order to get over its original sins of greed & racism (culminating most notably in the transAfrican slave trade).

Because the white nationalist domestic terrorists like Donald and Ron DeSantis and Goebbels Miller & Sham Blondi & Kristi Gnome DO NOT WANT TO DO THE TRUTH PART.

And the passive white supremacists in the country with disposable income don't want to spend any of it on the necessary therapy to wrestle with their own white privilege.

https://planamag.com/white-supremacy-is-systemic-narcissism/

And that creates the permission structure for the active violent racists to do what they are doing now and try to drag the country backwards, instead of letting it go forwards.

All you need to know is that BLIND POLLS OF MVP KAMALA HARRIS' ECONOMIC POLICIES POLLED AT 100% APPROVAL RATES WITH REPUBLICANS.

https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/republicans-favoured-kamala-harriss-policies-in-blind-polling-385496/

Racism & sexism. Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion policies were in place in the first place because White people couldn't find it in themselves to do the best things for the country or even their organizations for common-sense, profit-motivated reasons.

The hierarchy is more important to those people than even the profit motive -- the refusal to share is more important to them than having enough for everyone and doling it out equitably -- and they're willing to do anything to try to keep that hierarchy intact.

You don't have to wonder at all It's all there in the manual.

Ta, Marcie. Politically, it is indeed The Bad Place. Personally, I'm so very happy, fulfilled, and joyous that I pity any girl who isn't me tonight.

Drumpf has apparenty made a 'deal' with El Salvador's Bukele and DOJ is dropping charges against MS-13 members.

Lest we forget Bukele is a murderous shit bag just like one of his predessors, 'Blowtorch Bob' D'Aubuisson, a friend of Reagan's who was notorious for torturing prisoners by burning the soles of their feet with (you guessed it) a blowtorch. He was also known as the head of the Salvadoran death squads.

Nice friends we have down there...

Like Napalm in the Morning, you can smell the Victory:

"A Jan. 6 rioter pardoned by President Donald Trump has been sentenced to life in prison after he was later convicted of plotting to assassinate FBI agents and other law enforcement officials."

I guess "The inmates are running the asylum" needs an update -or at least an addition - "The convicts are running the prosecutions."

This just makes sense with this flagrantly violent death cult being in charge. Kinda what you get when Americans give the Executive Branch (what enforces your laws) to a transnational, ethnonationalist racist criminal syndicate.

As soon as the Democrats can, they need to pass a law that forbids anyone who was convicted of being a part of the attempted insurrection from any position of government power, even if pardoned.

Call it the no gifts to those who hate America act or something along those lines.

This was right after Trump gave his speech in the Ellipse then retreated to the White House to sip a Diet Coke and watch himself ranting at the crowd to “fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore” and muttering “I hope Mike is going to do the right thing. I hope so. I hope so”

And that is how Trump's coup failed. As anyone knows, to get Mike Pence to show up and destroy democracy, you have to say his name three times while holding a gay bunny.
