British person here. I think it's not coincidental that this mob got the ongoing Farage/Reform donations scandal (Farage is being investigated by the police) off the front pages. I also wouldn't characterise the UK government as racist. It's got some less than ideal policies and its response to this mob was weak sauce but it's nowhere near as bad as the swivel eyes in Restore or Reform. Calling it racist just panders to the 'they're all the same' doom mongers. And as a side note, no one in Britain - even posh people - says 'what what.'
Am I the only one who has never heard of OCCRP? I think when using initialisms less well-known than FBI or ICE, it would be nice to at least say what the letters stand for, and even better if hyperlinked to a site that describes who they are. Usually the minimum on the first use is Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), after which just the initials are fine in the same article. If only used one time in an article, the initialism isn't even needed. They're based in Amsterdam, if anyone else was curious.
Agreed, initialisms and abbreviations that are not extremely common need to be written out at least once. I'd prefer it if people err on the side of writing out Nineteen Eighty-Four as is the actual title of the book instead of trying to shorten everything. You're not working under a strict character limit, this is not a tweet.

I think the problem is, geography is not taught as a subject in elementary school and people don't really have a three dimensional perspective. A history teacher told us geography is history, art, culture.
What can we even do to combat this? Europe has serious laws that social media has to follow, and this is still happening there. What hope does America, the country that won't regulate anything, have?

But back to the subject: Most social media regulation is a massive step towards a police state. The best thing to do is to break up all monopolies and monopsonies, that would do so much more for online safety than anything else.
If your goal is only to attack far-right networks organizing harassing actions, then regulating social media isn't going to be enough since network behaviour is resistant to suppression (this is why the internet never goes down globally: It's a network and networks are extremely disruption resistant). We need to fight those who fund these networks.
Dig deep enough and you will also find a Russian connection to all of these groups. Putin sees these far right protesters as essential to his goal of destabilizing the west and putting an end to democracy.

The last story I watched where a guy wore a mask, he killed his wife's lover fearing there may be be surveillance cameras in places. He managed to avoid being seen, but the police detective believed he did it, by his reaction when he saw him pick up his blood covered wife at the hospital.
Like he already knew everything. But the cop couldn't prove it, but he later told the guy he knew he did it.
