It really is kinda frightening how many of these utter loons have been elected to Congress. I had no idea the mental health of this nation was so dire.

"Ward of the state" is a quaint medieval concept (originally, ward of the king) that was abandoned over a century ago. In the reality-based community minor children who lack a guardian come under the jurisdiction of family court, which appoints a guardian ad litem who is charged with speaking on behalf of the child in all proceedings. Not just anyone can do this; potential guardians are carefully screened and are supervised by the court and must submit regular reports to it. Such matters fall under the purview of the individual states; the Federal government has no involvement or role in guardianship cases.

THERE IS NO MECHANISM OR STATUS that provides authority to either the Federal government of the United States of America or any state, territory or administrative unit of government within it for unrestricted authority over the body of a child for research purposes.

Someone with a law degree would know this (someone who was in contact with reality, that is) and it is broadly understood by most the lay public as well. ALL medical professionals and medical facility administrators are supremely knowledgeable about it as well. NO MEDICAL PROCEDURE IN THE USA CAN BE PERFORMED WITHOUT FULLY INFORMED CONSENT provided by the person or someone who is legally authorized to act on the person's behalf. THE GOVERNMENT NEVER HAS THIS AUTHORITY.

I was employed in state government for 25 years and was routinely involved up to my elbows in such matters during most of them, especially during the final decade of my tenure. I routinely interfaced with state officials and administrators, legal advocates, family members and members of the judiciary during that time.

Nah, it's just a product of the crazification factor.

Basically, the results of almost any well-constructed poll will show approx. 20%-30% of respondents choosing the craziest or most extreme response among those that the poll included.

Never forget, she was the leading Repubican Presidential candidate just three years ago. I think it unravelled when she cited <strike>her mother</strike> the woman whose daughter got mental retardation from the HPV vaccine*. That kind of medical research laid the groundwork for her latest deranged lunacy. ______________________________________ * if God is so all-knowing, why didn't he mention penicillin or kangaroos in the Bible?
