Not to get on you again, but Native Americans are NOT considered Hispanic at all. Having said that, many prefer to be called Indigneous, and in Canada they are called First Nations. Do you think THEY speak Spanish?

Yes, some of them, particularly in México (and the contiguous parts of the US) intermarried with people from Spain. in México they are called mestizos (mixed). But again, do you really think that Native Americans that live in the Northeast and the Midwest and the Plains and the Pacific Northwest and the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast are Hispanic??????????????

If you have really heard people say Native American to describe people who are solely Spanish/Portuguese, I'd suggest you leave whatever crazy, very uneducated town you live in.In all seriousness that sounds like something that MAGAs would say.

After having to take a shitolad of time to take others to task for really stupid shit (this does NOT apply to you), I just fucking wish that we could just get rid of all the borders and 'racial' differences and all just live together and APPRECIATE others' differences.

I am glad that things are changing but it should've happened æons ago.

The Hays Code was enforced by Catholic priests.

Catholic priests had a large hand in enforcing the Hays Code. The Catholic Church would routinely ban movies or books they didn't approve of. The huge number of Catho.ic immigrants gave them power over which movies congregations were allowed to see. Catholic imprimatur could break a film at the box office. The movie 'The Godfather' wan tabu for a while because it used the name of God in the title. The church overreacted in this matter, which helped break their power over Hollywood.

Network execs wanted Lucy's husband to be played by Rock Hudson, because the idea of a white woman with a Cuban husband was racy

A tad late for this, but you do realise I hope that not all websites are reliable, and some may be only partially reliable,

But I think you just want to win a battle, and not pay attention to certain facts that you do not agree with,Am I always correct - NO. But having studied these things for decades, well before the internet, I think I can say I do know a lot about the subject.

Believe me, I'm a lot more skeptical of website sources than you give me credit for - and, while I may not have done my due diligence before my original post, I have done so now, and I find nothing negative about this source. Mayve you should be specific in your criticisms, because all I can see is some kind of reflexive nay-saying of the type you accuse me of -not paying attention to facts you disagree with.

Don't bother responding, since I have no intention of paying attention to amy more you have to say

Hollywood's problem is that making movies is so expensive. So they need Moneymen - who almost invariably skew very Right. It's not the artists and creatives who are determining what makes it to the screens. Even if a scriptwriter or director is willing to go to the mat for their vision, they'll just be fired and replaced with someone who WILL do what the investor's want.

Yeah, that's a problem. The only even vaguely plausible excuse is if the actor's playing a real person; then a case can be made for casting based on resemblance to that person, rather than sexuality. Casting Freddie Mercury - real person, bisexual and Egyptian - would have been especially tricky. At least Malik hit two out of the three.

But for fictional characters? NO excuse.
