IF one remembers that patriotism is methamphetamine for stupid people.

How many pieces of flair were minimum?

yes . . . but they wouldn't be shouting their patriotism from the rooftops while colluding with foreign governments to destabilize and eventually destroy this one (that's what we have the kock brothers for).

they were honest patriots in that they were trying to do good for the country . . . it's not my fault they were so sorely misguided and completely wrong about what would actually help the country.

Hey, TMHA, you're aggressive, accusatory, and very thin skinned. You lash out at someone who doesn't deserve it, then call yourself the victim when people push back. Want to know the easy way out of this? Just copy paste the following.

"Hey, really sorry about by posts earlier. I was out of line and I apologize. The current political climate has me on edge, as I suspect it does for many of us here. Topics like the article above get me really emotional and sometimes in my zeal to make a better world I lash out at people I should be embracing. Sorry for that overreaction, have a nice day, and keep fighting the good fight."

You're welcome, now move along.

We have the money in the fund. They should restore the funding that Rick Perry's admin stole.

Note also that 30 hrs a week has the effect of imposing a full_time schedule on a part-time worker, unlike a 20 hour week.

Yes, and solidly populated with Fox Newz viewers. There is quite a progressive art and music scene going on though.

Is anyone at all surprised?

sort of. it's a bit more complicated than that. we're also talking about updating the funding formulas and just to update the transportation allotment (which is currently based on the price of gas in 1983) would be $2 billion a year. a lot of education groups are opposed to raiding PSF because they don't believe there will be enough protections put in place to ensure it's not used to certify the budget (i.e. pay for other things)--you only need to look at what they did to the State Highway Fund in the current budget to see that their fears are well founded. and ESF really doesn't have near as much in it as everyone seems to think it does (or they think things will cost far less than it really does). I don't know that dumping more M&O funding in there without realigning the FSP formulas (increasing the basic allotment, ensuring there is funding for vital support staff, increasing some of the weights, adding new weights, updating the transportation allotment, etc.) and that's before we get how to fund it all which, at the end of the day, is going to require new revenue streams to be identified because we'd be out of reserve funds in 2-4 years and then we're back in the same mess we started in. AND on top of that, to meet TX60X30 goals, we're going to need some additional infrastructure both at higher education facilities and high schools as well as simply assisting high growth school districts with their infrastructure.

can you tell I sit through TX Senate Finance hearings?

I never said, "Thank you" and I'm not going anywhere.

"No one would have known you were a PoC (something which I highly doubt, actually)" Wow, really? Is it because I'm "articulate" and have a polysyllabic vocabulary? You're going to be mighty embarrassed at the next meetup, son. And at this point I'm looking forward to it. You might take a gander at the urban dictionary while you're at it, too -- it'll explain to you the Dunning-Kruger Syndrome Trust me - you are going to need to know what that is. What a terrible, RACIST thing to say to someone you can't even see, so you have no idea how wrong you really are. My point -- you're proving it. https://i.kinja-img.com/gaw... https://twitter.com/i/momen...

I am sorry you're so racist you'd call someone "thin-skinned" and not even consider how racist that is. But I'm certainly not sorry for what I said (nor for your enablers who are upvoting your comment).

“Thin-skinned” – wow. You’re worse than the brushhead on the LIRR who was yelling at the WOC for “BEING TOO LOUD”. I guess you’re the quasi-eloguent upper middle class white version. Your pal just told me he “doubted” I was what I say I am – because of the polysyllabic vocabulary, I guess – and he’s so ignorant he doesn’t even know how RACIST that is even though Chris Rock pointed it out in a 4-minute segment in his monologue when President Obama was first elected. Thanks to both you and your buddy up there for proving my point. Typical white dude stuff – you usually gang up on people of color because you know one-on-one you’ll get your behind handed to you on one of those platinum platters of which your white male privilege is so fond.
