The editrix said that if you are poor then do NOT make yourself poorer via Wonkette.

You are a first year college student with financial aid / loans etc as I recall and that means you are BY DEFINITION poor!

I know your heart is in the right place but I implore you to save that money right now.

This may not endear me to people but I was once a first year student who had no spare cash and my nephews and nieces tell me that has not changed in the past 30 years.

LOL! President Obama had a nice chart that was easy to read. (Where's YOUR chart Donnie?) He also had a smart nerd on camera to help SPLAIN things! Donnie's deplorable people must have shit bricks to see a guy with glasses schooling them! Barack's buddy, Jason, must remind them of every teacher who ever flunked them or gave them a pitiful D.

There are female, not-white, and not-uneducated Trump supporters. Very few and far between, but they do exist.

One of my co-workers brought a container of edible gold leaf back from Japan. We were having it with our coffee today. It was before we knew that our incomes were growing. I guess we are just ahead of the curve.

You laugh, but lobster used to be considered garbage food:

... Prior to this time, lobster was considered a mark of poverty or as a food for indentured servants or lower members of society in Maine, Massachusetts, and the Canadian Maritimes, and servants specified in employment agreements that they would not eat lobster more than twice per week. Lobster was also commonly served in prisons, much to the displeasure of inmates. American lobster was initially deemed worthy only of being used as fertilizer or fish bait, and until well into the 20th century, it was not viewed as more than a low-priced canned staple food.

He didn't just say that truly free markets have never existed, because they have always been too heavily regulated? That's the line I get from one of my libertarian friends.

My income grew, but not by 5.2%. That means that someone else's income grew faster. As long as that someone else is poor and/or working class, I'm happy.

Statistically, it is great news...I am still seeing myself and others still struggling to gain ground from the recession. I know exactly one person who has gotten a raise. The guy I know who has gotten multiple raises and promotions, used to ask me questions at work before I got laid off. It is still uneven, and geographically or industry specific. I read the job ads, and the few that list a starting wage are barely above minimum in California and require a BS/BA and or 5 years of experience in the field. It is getting better; but it is slow and uneven.

That explains why they were fished to near extinction! Once plentiful and easy to catch; now not so much. Or was it a marketing ploy, like diamonds?
