My wages aren't going up 4.3% or 3.1% or 2.2% or otherwise. I can't be the only one.

If it fits in the budget our uni gives a 4% increase every year if you have an acceptable yearly performance review.

I don't think any of the people I know who work in private industry get that. Or near that.

I have an addendum to the Merriam Webster dictionary published in 2021.

The definition was "Spineless Puss: adjective/verb)" and all it has was Mike Johnson's picture next to it

Rapper Macklemore has been dropped from Ed Sheeran’s tour after he made a “Free Palestine” speech on stage earlier this month

https://bsky.app/profile/phillewis.bsky.social/post/3mvig6msx7s23

New: Macklemore says Robert Kraft — who owns Gillette Stadium, where Macklemore & Ed Sheeran were to perform later this month — called Sheeran.

Kraft rallied other owners together behind an ultimatum for Sheeran: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you won't be allowed in our venues.

https://bsky.app/profile/premthakker.bsky.social/post/3mviifqfnhk25

Robert Kraft — who's given millions to pro-Israel orgs like AIPAC — once got a $1M award from Netanyahu for helping stop people from boycotting Israel.

"Israel does not have a more loyal friend than Robert Kraft," Netanyahu said.

Now, Kraft helps kick Macklemore off Ed Sheeran's tour:

Wow.

A lot of lawyers are going to be very busy on this for a while.

And frankly Sheeran's management should be furious with Kraft.

Hell, Ticketmaster needs to call Kraft and offer to destroy his business and personal wealth.

BREAKING: EPA Will Test Drinking Water for Abortion Pills & Contraception

The federal agency just caved to years of anti-abortion pressure

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has caved to a years-long anti-abortion campaign, announcing that it will test the nation’s water supply for abortion medication, contraception, and hormones used in gender-affirming care, along with over 1,000 other medications and chemicals.

We warned this was coming: in April, the agency put these same medications on a federal list of potential “contaminants” and recommended that states test their drinking water for them. But that was just a recommendation; this is the EPA actually doing it. And while the earlier list included the abortion medications misoprostol and methotrexate, this new one adds in mifepristone—the medication at the center of multiple Republican attacks on telemedicine abortion.

POLITICO, which broke the news today, notes that the EPA’s test will only show whether certain chemicals are present in the water, not how much there is or whether the amount poses a risk to people.

That doesn’t matter much, though, in terms of the politics. If the test finds any trace of abortion pills, conservatives will use it to legitimize their new legal front in the war on reproductive rights—one that includes weaponizing environmental protections to restrict abortion medication (and possibly contraception), and legislation that forces women to bag up miscarriage and abortion remains as ‘toxic’ medical waste.

The cruelty really is the point here, not science or health.

How did we get here?

Anti-abortion activists, led by Students for Life (SFL), have been pushing the ‘abortion in the water’ lie for years—in large part because they understand how unpopular abortion bans are. What is popular, however, are environmental protections. Enter SFL’s “Clean Water” campaign.

The group started by claiming mifepristone in the water was harming animal and plant life, but the rise of MAHA prompted a strategy switch: now they say Americans are all “drinking abortions.” Here’s the thing: they know it’s all bullshit. And at a 2025 conference, SFL vice president Kristi Hamrick admitted as much:

“This is not because the environment was my first weapon of choice—it’s because it’s the one we have now…Environmental law has teeth. It already exists. And, frankly, I’m for using the devil’s own tools against them.”

Since then, the group has overseen “clean water” bills introduced in multiple states, federal legislation that would criminalize providers who flush abortion remains and force women to bag up their pregnancy remains with “catch kits,” and Congressional Republicans lobbying the EPA for this very moment. A few weeks ago, SFL released their own junk study that purports to show mifepristone in the water (it didn’t).

Didn't some federal court just decide that Americans don't have a Constitutional right to clean water?
