I suspect Mike Johnson knows this with pellucid clarity, even if he doesn't know much else. A country can be governed according to the Ten Commandments or the U.S. Constitution. It can't be both. They are diametrically opposed. The first and greatest commandment (we're told, or supposedly told, by Jesus) is to worship one god and one god only. The constitution says congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. It also says (Article 6) that no religious test shall ever be required for holding office or positions of public trust in the United States.

It's the Bible or the Constitution as the supreme force in American government. One or the other. And I repeat that Mike Johnson without doubt knows this and would prefer to junk the Constitution - or at least pay the merest lip service to it while imposing a medieval theocracy on his nation.

Can we start a "Tea Party" of our own then? Let's all run for office completely and utterly unprepared and unqualified, like that original batch of successful Tea Party jerkoffs who were actually the Freedom Caucus in disguise. Except our One Issue From Which We Will Never Back Down From For Even One Inch will be the mention or use of religion in government. Our only purpose in life, once elected, will be to sweep any religious language from any legislation and to challenge the existence of god in rebuttal every time that concept is mentioned by any republican on or off record. Who knows? You think they thought they'd have COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT when they were just getting started? Might be fun! We don't have a lot of dark money billionaires to fund it, but our side usually does pretty good with the ham & eggers nickel-and-diming us over the finish line, you know?

So I guess by "going to start every morning in prayer in that room.", that would be the 149 day average that the house is in session every year? They must need the other 216 to grovel before their corporate pay masters and genuflecting to Hair Fuhrer, just before administering some 'mouth love' to his little Luigi.

Kind of weird about how I’m far more open about being bisexual than I am about being Christian. But then again the Bible does instruct us to pray in the closet, not live in one.

This man frightens me to my core.

That interview Q&A suggested for candidates sure verges close to violating the Constitution's prohibition of any religious test for public office. Apparently our founding documents join the Bible in being "stuff" that this crowd isn't familiar with.
