I did type in response to Nick Kristof that there's a difference between "rule of law" and this stupid "law and order", the latter of which is a well-known bullhorn (not dogwhistle) for state-sanctioned violence against already marginalized people, a distinction which it's arguably journalists' obligation to articulate to the rest of us
