I’m sure Trump is drawing on the famous precedents of the Handshake of Versailles, the Fist Bump of Westphalia, and the Pinky Swear of Ghent.

He has already caused damage to NATO. Canada has already cancelled a purchase of Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornets, with a prior purchase of F-35 Lightnings on the brink. Brexit means another core member of NATO hangs in the balance, plus newly-elected Russian-promoted nationalist governments in Italy and Austria causes further divisions.

Any tariffs that get applied to Chinese-made goods means pain for any US corp with Chinese production. From semiconductor companies like AMD and Qualcomm right on down to Walmart.

Plus China holds untold billions in bonds and other debt instruments. Imagine what would happen if they called in said debt on a moments notice?

I concur with your assumption

•Australia have a 35 Billion dollar trade surplus with china they ( the y still have a Government by the People and for the People )n are not to give that up because of a crazy chicken shit in the WH…( 80 % of Australian think negative abt Donny )•Russia – China pull together•Europe – Donny has to do a better to gain their support•It means 2/3 of Global GDP – versus v Donny T.

How China could hurt US once it ran out of imports to tax

In his trade war with China, President Donald Trump wields one seeming advantage: The United States could ultimately slap tariffs on more than $500 billion in imported Chinese goods. Beijing has much less to tax: It imported just $130 billion in U.S. goods last year.

Yet that hardly means China would be powerless to fight back once it ran out of U.S. goods to penalize. It possesses a range of other weapons with which to inflict pain on the U.S. economy.Indeed, China's Commerce Ministry has warned of "comprehensive measures" it could take against the United States — from harassing automakers, retailers or other American companies that depend on China to drive revenue to selling U.S. government debt or disrupting diplomatic efforts over North Korea.

"We love you, Dear Leader.""Dear Leader, we love you.""Dear Leader, you are our everything.""You're once, twice, three times a Dear Leader.""I'm just mad about Dear Leader.""Thank you for that one grain of rice to feed my family, Dear Leader. We'll save the leftovers for tomorrow."

Oddly enough, even though the lyrics are different the tune is the same for every song.
