I didn't want to mention it after Wonkette migrated to Substack because of all the work involved in changing locations but Ghost would have been a better choice. It still is but ...
I'm not going to bother reading any defense of Wonkette remaining on Substack, because I don't think it's really defensible, but I love Wonkette, so I'm not going to kick up a fuss about it. I mean, look at the fucking world - Substack is small potatoes.
My monthly donation goes through another problematic entity (starts with a P, ends with an L), so I can at least take comfort in the fact that zero of my Ameros go to Substack.
He is not the only one. The Guardian had an article a year or two ago about some of the other awful things here. I checked one out. It was white separatists who have a place in WY where they congregate. For fun times supposedly. Their post I read did not violate the Substack rules, but it scared me.
I haz a Substack; feel free, it's free, gratis, go look at it, you won't like it (although I flatter myself not wholly outrageously that in the current sociopolitical clime it rather featly instantiates Timothy Snyder's antifa rule #9). I don't take any money for it. All members of the species with online access should start their own Substacks and similarly decline to monetize them, a billion, two billion unsustainable loss-leader accounts; then when the company ineluctably-eventually decides that enuf's enuf with the commonists (not [sic]-bait, bitte!) making a terapoint and shuts down the begging-bowl cases, we can sue.
In the matter of another Timothy, the one whose name is attached to two eponymous epistles writes in the first of those: ῥίζα γὰρ πάντων τῶν κακῶν ἐστιν ἡ φιλαργυρία,; or, in the Auld Scots Queen's Authorised Version, "For the loue of money ["philarguria", literally, the love of silver] is the root of all euill". And In Revelation is limned a state of affairs in which one may not buy or sell without the Beast's mark. Where does the emphasis fall there? On the awfulness of the Beast's tyrannic impositions as stayers of commerce? Or on the power of commerce -- of getting and spending, of buying and selling -- as itself an inducement to league oneself with Satan? In the age that cut off a king's head, Gerard Winstanley knew.
There must be a path that is non-violent to send a clear message to Substack. I’d begin with a letter to express how deeply disturbing it is that Substack welcomes, for profit Andrew Tate, and had you known they would do this you would not have invested in the move to Substack. It’s a small step but it’s clean and true. So sorry you are grieving, and likely in the anger stage at the moment.
The amount of Wonkette saved by moving to Substack was gargantuan. I don't know if the same is true of Ghost, but IMO that would be a better hosting service. But honestly, whatever allows Rebecca to pay Marcie works for me at this point. It's impossible to be purely ethical online.
Reported and blocked him before he even showed up on my feed. It will take a LOT more than that to make me leave Substack. I love it here and most folks I encounter are nothing but respectful. Thank you WONKETTE for leading me to Substack!
I subscribe to so many on Substack, but their policies were the reason I hesitate so long in all places, except for Wonkette and Professor Throckmorton...an unlikely duo. 😁
Not a big fan of Andrew. But there was a certain amount of Schadenfreude in watching this he-man woman hater get the shit knocked out of him by Chase Demoor.
And then Tristan having a "Hair Transplant" is amusing. Because he was "Born in the body of a man whose hair started falling out in his early thirties."
It's all fun and games until their toxic masculinity shrivels up like their tiny penises.

There is no help for any of this.

But a decade or more of posts got transferred *onto* Substack at some stage. This sounds like a "hard" issue rather than an impossible one.
Two decades.
I think the cost of paying for hosting before was threatening the future of Wonkette (and hiring Marcie) and Substack ameliorated that problem.
Moving elsewhere might be cost prohibitive at this point.

"How to Win Friends & Influence People" Revised Edition.
Can we complain to Substack and ask that he be removed?
This morning anotherwonk said she went to his substack, used the report feature to report him, then blocked him.
That might be useful if enough people did it.
Reportedly at the behest of young Barron. Apples and trees, people!
I don't get it. Tate doesn't write. I doubt he can even read. He makes videos. This is not a video hosting site. Why is he here at all?
One more thing that can be laid at the clay feet of the Big Fool in the White House.
He's fine with rape and doesn't much care about the age of the victim. He also hates women. Obviously, he'd stand up for the pos Tate.
How's this guy walking the streets? Oh,yeah rapist Trump let him out.

Now I have to look up Professor Throckmorton! 😆
Heavy storms moving thru PA. The world goers on, despite the convicted felon. Perhaps it might consider leaving him behind.
I joined through PayPal when you migrated, so SubStack can pretty much... I don't wanna get in trouble with Doc again so...

The Tate boys' late father, Emory Tate, was a popular personality in the US chess world. I never met him, but everyone who had seemed to like him.
But now, shame and disgrace will hang on his name for generations to come, because of those two disgusting villains. It saddens one.
