I'm absolutely certain they are appealing to real pedos and it scares the shit out of me.

They know their audience, and it does not bother them. Someday if we ever reach some kind of enlightenment, they will declare them illegal if not immoral.

I agree tarting babies up to look fuckable is horrendous. I bet they have stories to tell and I wish they would.

She doesn't (I do though). But I meant the objectification. "You look more fuckable with a little more meat on your bones," is not a good compliment.

No, not really a joke. The woman can write, though.

I concur with "why are beauty pageants still a thing?" Let them die.

I'd boycott these shows, but I already don't watch them. Bet I don't buy anything from any sponsors, either.

She was just a horrible, horrible person who was Director of the Miss America Pageant from 1941 to 1977.

Every year, she was praised in terms that would have made Stalin blush until she was finally unhorsed.

She was, during her dictatorship, the architect of the phony "scholarship" pitch and much else.

She would come out every year, drip pure evil for awhile and go back to her annual duties.

Well, yeah, of course.

The Hawt Homeless Women Pageant.

It's perfect for TLC.

With Josh Duggar as the Celebrity Host.

I do as well remember the sexually precocious children in the Calvin Klein ads?

And just like the Lottery in _Nineteen Eighty-Four_, it's rigged so the proles never really get into the ruling class.

Fun fact about Tammy Haddad -- she was Larry King's executive producer at CNN back in the 80s. When she went off on someone you could hear it all over the building. I felt sorry for her staff, but Larry seemed to like her. After she left CNN, she spent a moment at the Today Show and then popped up as a judge at Miss America. I didn't know she was on the board.
