I get the representation part. I'm just wondering with their treatment by Trump's Murica, wouldn't that motivate more to vote for independence? Don't know, just asking.

it probably is very motivating! But right now even if an overwhelming majority of Puertorrican@s were to vote for independence it would not mean much more than an opinion poll, and frankly most people are too busy trying to cope with the crippling lack of infrastructure etc to organise something like that.

I will take an American's opinion on handling money once America brings their militairy spending below 2% of their national budget.

Also, stop storing your soldiers in other countries, don't you need the manpower at home?
