Doggo is very cute. I always stop by posts when they have pictures of a doggo.

I've done exactly what that dog is doing right there and it looks so good right about now.

He's tired of resting his head on his left paw and wants to rest it on his right paw, but he can't quite keep his snout out of the water on that side. Oh well, modern dog problems.

Waking up in a gutter doesn't count. Trust me on that.

Refreshing? I'll say. I feel better already!

This dog reminds me of Dublin's "Anna Livia", more colloquially known as "The Floozie in the Jacuzzi."

Fellow Xer here (I know,) in honor of Mr. Sutherland I watched "Invasion of the Body Snatchers '78" for the first time...and more for about 3 days. Holy Shat, what a feat of cinematic storytelling

Nope, not reading about Adobe but I do hate how every update to Acrobat makes it less functional. Like, let's take basic functions that used to be on a toolbar and make them three clicks deep in a nest of dropdown menus, so that when a user wants to use that handy feature a whole bunch of times, it takes so much longer. Seriously so stupid how much longer it takes to add a comment to a PDF, let alone dozens of comments as one proofreads a document. So tedious now! Or the bookmarks bar that insists on opening and taking up 1/3 of the screen for every single PDF, with the only solution requiring special coding in a language I don't understand. Or stupid AI popping up like the old paperclip and asking me if I'd like AI to help me interpret my PDF. Do I want AI to tell me what's on the page I just generated from the drawing I drew? No. I want the bookmark bar to NOT show up on every single PDF. I want my toolbars back.

Anyway, shut up with the whining about Adobe no one cares get back to work no one wants to work any more get off my lawn.

Reading the article about the tree poisoning: "If this were a made-for-TV drama, the story set against the backdrop of this quaint village would have it all: Wealthy out-of-state villains, a sleuthing member of the venerable L.L. Bean family, and the same powerful chemical used to avenge Alabama’s loss on the football field to archrival Auburn."

I had a feeling that that the legend of Harvey Updyke and Toomer's Corner would get a mention there.

Yeah, we're all real really proud of our asshole tree poisoners 🙄. Maine can keep them and dispose of them any way they see fit.

MASH was an awful movie. I thought so when I saw it at the time. I liked the jeep driver though. "Goddam army." And later, "Goddam army Jeep." That was the only thing I liked.

I’d like to force those Missouri psychopaths to take a shot of something that may or may not contain traces of herbicides/neurological agents every morning of everyday for the rest of their damn lives.

I happened to re-watch "Don't Look Now" a week before Donald Sutherland died, despite the resolution of the film I'd recommend it as a fitting tribute.

Moar Tabs comments!

1) Rich fucks in Maine poisoning trees to improve their view: In my neck of the woods, it was Judge "Chainsaw" O'Brien of the Sacramento Superior Court, who cut down a grove of trees on public land so he could have a view of the river. It was a big ugly stink ten or fifteen years ago. In the brouhaha that ensued, it also came up that he was a misogynist and power-crazed geek on the bench, as well.

2) Shasta land going back to the tribes: I wonder if 'Trix realizes that this is the very same neck of the woods where there has been a nasty local MAGAified power grab that she covered fairly extensively here in Tabs? Related in some way? Don't bet against it.

3) I would say that it's a mistake to say that Roberts "failed" in some way in the half-assed rollback of Bruen. The ensuing ambiguity allows lower courts to rule using whatever historical justification they like, while the Supremes have full latitude to uphold or overturn at their discretion by whatever bullshit metric is most convenient at the time, and plenty of cover to do so without totally delegitimizing themselves. A cynical person might conclude that this is EXACTLY what Roberts wants.

Well, we watched "MASH" too in DS's honor, and we were appalled. We didn't watch the "special-all-the-answers-ever!" WONKETTE sponsored version, so I guess our opinions are invalid, but "MASH" was about the same time as "National Lampoon", and later "Animal House" and "Porky's" and all that other cruelty-is-great! media! So is Pedophilia and Animal Abuse and Woman Hating and Black People Hating and how does Donald Trump not fit perfectly into that Paradigm. Thanks, Trix!

OUCH. Guess you had to be there, MASH was an amazing movie when it came out. Context. And I'm not 85.

We watched Klute in honor of Sutherland this past weekend. It's more a vehicle for Jane Fonda (who deservedly won best actor for the role), but overall a very good movie, and Sutherland is perfect in his rolel. Bit of male savior at the end, but fairly typical for thrillers at the time.

I very specifically said actor because the terms actor/actress are gender normative and there's been a movement to do away with "actress" and just use actor for everyone. Just trying to be an ally.
