That's exactly how my younger years were for me. I literally never knew when it would happen until those debilitating cramps would begin. I developed endometriosis in my 30's and after battling my insurance company, finally got a hysterectomy. Best surgery I ever had. For me, having a period was a disability. The pain was so bad, I passed out sometimes. I can remember literally crawling on the floor, trying to get to my bottle of ibuprofen. I had to take 8-10 of them at a time in order to numb the pain. I almost lost my job due to being unable to work during those times. It was horrible. I remember wishing there was some kind of device that I could hook up to my manager at work where he could experience the same level of pain so he would understand why I couldn't be there.
I know someone who worked on anonymized hospital data. One of his first reports on it was that it was not anonymous enough. In particular for women and childbirth it was easy to match public birth notices with a patient ID allowing identification of a woman, the father and the child. He could also match public information about car and industrial accidents to identify people.Anonymized or not that data still should be treated as privileged.
I too me years to parse that one too.The point of it is that it is cant and you dont understand it unless you understand it.It's much more plain speaking round these parts.
When I was younger mine were super irregular, and my emotions going haywire for a couple days would pretty much be my only clue. Once a month, or every two months, or two weeks after the last time, or whenever tf it was coming I’d pretty suddenly start feeling like I was really over this whole “being alive” shit, and then approximately 48 hours later I’d go to the bathroom and be like, “Ohhhhh, I don’t actually want to kill myself after all!” Fun times.
Watch for regulations on coat hangers....
BWAHAHAHAHAAH!!!!

There’s a reason anti-choice rhetoric starts sounding an awful lot like rape fantasies after awhile.
